First time newbie fabia vrs help

Featured Replies

Hello all

In the last couple of weeks I've bought my first car which is a viper green fabia MK2 vrs 62 plate with 50k miles on it.

I'm very proud of it and it's worn relatively well from previous owners.

Anyways to get to the point I want to look after it and am wondering what suggestions and former or current owners would have.

So far I've had it checked out by a trusted garage and it's okay. I know it's got a cave engine and I'll be keeping an eye on the oil situation. I'm putting tescos momentum fuel in and am doing the usual waxing the bodywork cleaning the interior and checking tyre pressures etc.

Is there anything else anyone would suggest ie fuel cleaners any point? Injector spray replacements or any cave fixes I need to look at or should I wait till I find out the oil consumption?

Any help would be greatly appreciated I'm really happy with this car so far and am looking forward to enjoying it bit also looking after it the best I can.

Thanks

Lew

Also are there any non performance related mods peope have found useful or DIY hacks that have made the car even better practicality or looks wise.

Welcome, and enjoy.

No fuel cleaners, avoid.

Best see or find out if the car has performance mods already because it might have.

Things might not be at Factory setting or standard power.   Before doing anything getting it on a Dyno might be an idea.

Check the springs and see if they are standard or after market.

Is the exhaust standard or maybe already modded, you will need someone that knows the cars to look see along with you.

Thanks very much for the reply.

Although it isn't the most subtle looking car , I'm personally not interested in having a car modded in any way as I don't think I can do a better job than Skoda. So as far as I know it's standard but I'll make sure to check. Thanks again for the help. It's great to hear from people with many years of experience and frankly just other owners.

You cannot go wrong with an oil and filter change as far as looking after a car goes. A diy job gives the opportunity to have a look at the underside and spray some lithium grease on rusty nuts.
