DSG Oil Change

Featured Replies

Skoda / VW say the DQ381 or the DQ400-e filter (40,000 mile services) just needs replaced at the 2nd service. so @ 160,000 miles with a DQ381. Nonsense. But that is what Main Dealerships in the UK follow. Worth looking what the Service Schedule is with VW / Audi in North America or Canada, where VW Group do not get away with failures as they do in the EU / Europe -UK.

Googling seems to suggest 80k too.

Either way, it’s simple to get it sorted. Mine’s just ticked over 30k but it’ll be 5 years old in March so will have it done then; especially given the tuning, it’s stupid not to.

I stop long ago to follow to the letter maintenance instructions when they no longer seem connected to the technical aspects of said maintenance ...

I have 381 in my 2.0 TDI 150 superb wagon, it will definitely be subject to an oil and filter change at between 40-50k.

I would much sooner have the piece of mind that it’s been done to be honest

I personally would change the oil on my DQ381 at 40k and the filter, which is on similar location but pointing forward(horizontally), not up(vertically) like on DQ250.

When i asked Skoda Gloucester what was the DSG oil change intervals they said 80k - i was sure I read 40k ...then back up north i was told 40k so was happy with that.

Ive since changed at 40k 80k and coming up to 120k where it will be done again.

Must admit everytime I get it changed the transmission is defo smoother.

@MP74 If a DQ381 it is according to the Manufacturers @ 80,000, anyone can please them selves though. Did you have the Filter changed at both the services you had done?

Yeah both filters were fitted and they aren't expensive anyway.

No way will i change that oil every 80k

I do starship miles 2023 L&K and its already done 113k

The Filter is certainly not expensive, just messy to change, As ridiculous as the official recommended, advised, schedule of 80,000 miles given by VW Group / Skoda is the Main Dealers going with not changing the DSG filter until the 2nd Service which could be 80,000 if an owner listen to them.
