Folding mirrors not working

Featured Replies

Hey hey, have brought a 2015 octavia rs162 tsi.

The outside rear mirrors arent folding in when parked and locked.

Tried a method mentioned in the forums to wind down all windows and up again to reset the settings but no go.

There also is no option for it in the infotainment unit or on the knob on the door.

Is it possible thus car doesnt have the folding mirrors? Is it an 'option' when you first by a skoda new?

Sounds likely that it doesn't have power folding mirrors :)

Do you have this on your side mirrors adjustment controls? If yes, then you have electrically folding mirrors. You might have to enable automatic folding when locking  in the car settings.

No doesnt have that on the knob. So i guess it doesnt have folding mirrors.

Just odd considering its got all the other options and then some. Bummer.

Thanks anyways

I think only the elegance and l&K had them as standard, not sure about the later sel.

It does have folding mirrors. Just not powered folding mirrors. I fold mine manually when moving a wheelie bin up the drive way. Easy to do.

Easy to retrofit if you want them though. I did it in an hour or so.

What part numbers would you require to do this retrofit.

Depends on whether you want to have auto dimming mirrors or not. I’ll have to dig out the part numbers when I get home.

The MY16 SE L has them as standard.

They are OK but they don't narrow the car by much, not like some mirror designs

That could be a good option as do have the auto dimm rear view mirror and think it’s a good system. Thanks that would be appreciated

Folding mirrors were only standard on some models and years.

Because whoever bought it didn't spec them :D

They were only standard on the SE L and vRS Challenge looking at the Nov 2019 brochure:
