Kodiaq 2020 - Tyre Pressure Monitoring

Featured Replies

Hi

Does anyone with 2020 model year Kodiaq have the New Tyre Pressure Monitoring System?

i.e. Sensors in the wheels that read pressure - not just the rolling radius like on Yeti or Karoq?

I have spare wheels for the car... Winter tyres... and when i ordered them did not know they car was going to get sensors...

Can the system be turned off so there is no alarm when i change the wheels?

What sensors are they? The usual VW 5Q0907275B?

I asked at the dealer and he did not know and has been waiting an answer back from Skoda for about 6 weeks now...

Anyone any info they can share on this system?

THANKS

Studied the subject some time ago and as far as I remember, the TPMS for VAG cars is identical. So the sensor itself is 5Q0907275B.

A 2020 model year car has to have a working TPMS system.

New sensors ( to go in the winter wheels ) might need coding to the car.

My new one has direct, but it hasn’t arrived yet.

I had the updated system on a previous Tiguan and changing to the winter wheels which didn’t have the sensors just gave a nil reading in the display. IIRC the wheels sensors were a silly price so I just went without individual pressure monitoring for the cold months.

About 120 euros / 105 quid for a set.

You can buy non VW one's much cheaper.

Don't know if you can reprogram the car to use the ABS system instead?

On older systems you could turn the Active System off.

@ZacDaMan72

Does the new car have the TPMS sensors and system?

Yep, I paid $350 for option - money well spent if you ask me. Too bad it doesn't seem to show tyre temp like Audi's - I assume that can't be changed with coding alone.

Probably same sensor at the wheel... typically the temp is monitored to correct for air pressure increasing as tyres get hot.. but no idea if it can be coded...
