Sat Nav update

Featured Replies

My KAROQ is 18 months old and I’m wondering about how the process of updating the maps on the Sat Nav works has anybody had any experience of this exercise? How is it done and is there any cost?

When you find out how to do it then it might be worth waiting a little. My dealer tells me map updates are usually released in November.

If justbaldchris has maps on a Skoda SD card he has the Amundsen unit and needs to use the Skoda SD card. Adding videos of how to update Columbus, which stores maps on hard drive not SD card is just confusing.

Kenny, the placing of Videos is for other members who may have had misunderstanding in up-grading software .... These were placed for ALL to look at , as it may help a Karoq owner to get up-dates. Feel free to contact a Moderator and get them to take my vids off the site.

Agree posting the videos could be helpful, but quoting justbaldchris on the Columbus link is confusing for someone that has the Amundsen unit.

Has anybody successful updated their Columbus Sat Nav system in their KAROQ this November?  As I understand it this system doesn’t use an SD card and the update has to be achieved through an online download to an external storage device that is then plugged into the USB on the car and then uploaded!! If so how did you do it, as Roman Verhofsek’s YouTube video made it look a bit of a lottery and a very long process. If you’ve done it please let me know how and how long it took.

PatD, I managed to get it done correctly last night: -

MartiniB, to say thanks again and to let you know ... I did the 2 hr download, plus downloaded the 7z1900-x64.exe  for extracting files - which seems to have done the trick.

Re-formatted (Sandisk Ultra Class 10/SDHC  sd-card) to NTFS . Then Extracting the files (3) from down load, dragged and dropped onto SD Card , where it is now doing the long haul of transferring from pc folder onto sd-card.

Hope to send you a likewise pic of update on this Columbus system.
