Well when it comes to IT support, isn't it that fools never differ? ;) :P

Ignore this post - i have re-read it and it does seem like i was implying you chaps are monkeys which was not the case...i was talking about the people i support at work every day, sometimes you forget that most people will know exactly what your talking about when you ask them to check power settings in the CP etc.

Most people at work would have looked at me blankly, and whisper to their colleague about the "IT Geek spouting jargon".

:)

Apologies if it did offend.

Is this really a wise course of actions?, new job, new employer, etc etc. They may not take kindly to their hardware being played about with to run constantly.

I know if it was my company I wouldn't allow it.

I was getting there chaps, im used to trying to explain such basic things to complete monkeys - so usually have to start at the beginning. :D

So glad I asked now, not!

For your information richieboy, I've worked in IT probably since you were born, just don't happen to be an expert on mobile hardware. All that was needed was a simple answer, thanks.

:finger:

Yep it works a treat that :D

Latitude D600 here' date=' 2G RAM though and 100G HDD which kinda makes it ok.

Must try the undervolting thing on it though. I wonder if they do that for HDDs :P (as that's the one thing that actually melts through the palm of my hand, at least it feels that way :D )[/quote']

If its a modern HDD you can control its powersaving and performance features too..

What's the problem here? I was talking about some of the customers i support daily when i mentioned monkeys, not you chaps. :thumbdwn:

I was trying to help, don't feel there was any need for that at all - unless you thought i was calling you a monkey which is not the case at all.

That's the way it comes across, I'm afraid.

Anyway let's leave it there.

All clear now - I jumped to the wrong conclusion. Thanks for the PM richie
