Basic setting not preformed error.

Featured Replies

Hi everybody.

I had my throttle body cleaned about 2 weeks ago. Before unmounting the throttle body the battery was disconnected.

After cleaning and mounting it the battery was reconnected and adaptation was done using a Ross tech kit.

Since this the throttle body do a continuous noise if the car ignition switch is in the ON position but the engine is not running yet. Before this the noise was heard for just seconds.

Using the Ross tech diagnostics I now have a (Basic setting not preformed) error. Cleaning errors and re-adapting done several times and everything as is. The error and the continuous noise from the throttle body.

Fuel consumption is slightly elevated!

Any ideas?

Thanks in advance.

1.6 engine.

Start with this procedure:

I would just say you have a very tight throttle cable.

Loosen it up a notch.

I feel sorry for the poor tb trying to pull the cable.

Everything is fine now with no errors enlisted.

Thank you for your help.

Mr.RicardoM; do you have more details about the adaptation process?

The adaptation process is easy.

  1. Ignition on. Check there are no errors stored.
  2. Go to Engine
  3. Go to Basic Settings
  4. Click the ON/Off/Next button. The throttle valve will go to min, max, 3 intermediate positions, then to start position. It takes 10 seconds.
  5. Ignition off.
