I'm just preparing for a reversing camera retrofit on a 2019 Octavia FL with Bolero radio.

Which tools do I need (link to eBay?) to remove the radio for accessing the rear of it?

Standard VW type radio removal tools, available from many places including Halfrauds.

 

2 will remove the glovebox unit, but get 4 in case you need to remove the display at some time.

@SashaGrace do you need to disconnect the battery on the new stuff before you remove the display?

Still haven't got round to changing over my USB socket since i got mine (lazy i know)

No, leave the battery plugged in

Even with the correct tool, it can be a pain getting it out.

Wasn't until I had managed to get mine out, I could see how it releases. Then it's dead obvious 😁

I should have took a picture. Not in the car until later today.

I had mine out and took pics.  Hope they might be helpful....

 you can see the little clips that have to be pushed toward the outside for the unit to unhook and slide out.  easy once you get the idea.

You may need to reach around the back to free the harness to give you more wriggle room (mine only came out a short distance) - drop the glovebox for access. 

Watch your hands though, there's some sharp edges back there. 🤕
