Why would you want to disable it? It's unlikely you will be able to do this with VCDS, you would probably need a tool capable of editing the EEPROM on the appropriate controller, and it may not be trivial depending on how much integration there is between ESP and other vehicle functions.

You could try 843D6016192680FC211306E7981F0142350000

It's should allow 'two stage ESP defeat' - hitting the traction control button once will disable traction control and holding it should also disable ESP.

Just to point out, I don't think the ESP is every truly disabled but it might be OK for your needs. If you need it fully disabled, you'll need to pull a fuse but you'll loose ABS too.

I did that on mine long time ago and it worked. (On Octavia 2 it can work too)

But what actually is deactivated, as you say "not truly disabled"?

You say it is some kind of sport mode, what kind of ESP is it then?

What is still active after the button is pressed for 5 seconds?

What varies between the settings is how much the controller will allow the car to slide before it intervenes to bring things under control. Even in the default setting it will allow a small amount of sliding before it acts.

Mine drifts with TCS and ESP on - when we have snow.... It is the TCS that cuts the power a little - not ESP. That just saves your life and keeps you on the road.

The ESP acts by selectively applying the brakes and will also intervene at some point in a slide, it's just there's a degree of slide allowed by the system before it acts. These days ESP and TCS are designed to operate as a single system with the intention of keeping the car pointing the right way on the road either by applying the brakes or cutting engine power, and additionally on haldex equipped cars changing the power distribution between front and rear.

Can you tell me what option in that coding needs to be changed?

It has many differences to mine and I would like to change only what needs to disable ESP .

Sadly my VCDS is older and it doesn't have descriptions for this coding.

Thanks.

Coding not accepted.

I have:

   Part No SW: 1K0 907 379 BM    HW: 1K0 907 379 BM
   Component: ESP MK60EC1   H46 0164

   Coding: 843D6016192700FA210C06ED98200052A1080023

Tried to change the last two digits from 23 to 73 or 70 coding is accepted but cannot disable with long press.
