‘Free’ servicing?

Featured Replies

I may have just got an early Xmas present. My 245 PP needs it’s 1st oil service. I booked it in with the supplying dealer few days ago and was quoted £159 so that wasn’t too bad, considering around £220 was my Octavia MkII and MKIII VRS usual dealer price. Things may have got better though. I received an email from the supplying dealer today, stating the car, which I bought at 6 months old, is on a service plan. I then contacted VWFS, who told me to supply a copy of my V5 and some details, then they’d transfer the plan to my name. Not sure if it’s going to be as simple as that, due to a clause on the VW stating Service Plan transfer has to be done within 21 days of purchase. However as the dealership didn’t inform me upon purchase, I hope I have a case to argue. If so, fingers crossed that it’s a 3 year plan .
