Removing emblems

Featured Replies

Hi guys, I saw someone here in this thread removing the "SKODA" letters on the back of their vehicle and re-pasting them spaced out.

My question is - hwo do you remove it without damaging the letters themselves?

Thanks for your help

Heat them slightly with a hairdryer, to soften the adhesive then use some fishing line or strong dental floss to get behind the emblems and agitate them away from the bodywork.

Thanks. I'll try that.

I saw a Superb 3 estate today M1 J10 with S K O D A spaced out on the boot. I assumed for a minute it was factory standard. Loved the mod.

Hi,

Ask @JR RS. He did exactly what you intend to do.

close, but not quiet.

i did a spaced out version of the  "S  U  P  E  R  B" rebadging, not SKODA. :)

given that mine has the old fashioned  Skoda badge logo/emblem, which cannot be removed as its recessed into the body panel, there is no point me putting spaced out SKODA writing.

@Sgwelly - its easy to remove the SKODA and SUPERB lettering from the boot.  I used tooth floss, using a sawing action, removed the letters.  then using WD40, or degreaser, i removed the glue left behind.  then a final wipe to finish things off.

Thsis is exactly what I might end up doing. Mine is an estate and the logo is sunk in as well.

Will give it a go this weekend and post the outcome. Hopefully, I don'y ruin it.

Thanks

Not tempted to change it to "B U R P S" then? 😁

Fishing line works well to remove the badges

I did it! I moved the Skoda below and spaced it out instead of the Superb. I managed to find 2.0T and stuck it where the Skoda was.

I think it looks great and unique. What do you think?

I prefer complete unbadged boot (except the logo). But if you like it, it's the most important! 👍
