Superb Mk Iii headlight and engine specs

Featured Replies

Can anyone help? I'm looking a getting a Mk III Superb estate and could do with knowing which Uk spec Mk III Superb estates  have xenon headlights, also any advice regarding the 1.6 versus 2.0 litre diesel models for towing a small caravan?

For the xenon headlights you need the SE L or above (SE L, SportLine, Laurin & Klement).

Very few of the models that don't get them as standard had them fitted as factory cost options (S, SE, SE Business or SE Technology etc.).

How often are you towing? Half a dozen times a year then the 1.6 TDI will be fine, every other weekend and you might benefit from the 2.0 TDI.

I tow with a 1.4 TSI 150PS petrol with less torque than either of the Superb's diesel engines and it copes just fine with a 1,400kg caravan.

Thanks for the info and the 1.4 tsi option which I will also consider.  I have a 1.2 tsi fabia atm that has rubbish projector halogen lights and is too light to tow a van but does cope well with a dinghy trailer.

I will need to tow a van about  8 times a year how's the 1.4 on fuel consumption? Do any of the Supurb range have the integrated tow bar standard or is it just optional across the range? Thanks.
