vRS Xenon condensation

Featured Replies

Hi Guys,

Collected my vRS yesterday all's good drives amazing very happy with it.

The only problem is both headlights have condensation. The offside has very slight hard to notice however the nearside unit does have noticeable condensation.

What's the best way to fix this or is it something that will fix itself with the heat? Car was imported to Ireland a month or so ago and hasn't been driven really so I'm guessing maybe that's why. I don't want water marks inside the headlight so any information would be greatly appreciated.

TIA

LED headlights have the issue, haven't heard much in the way of Xenon type.

Skoda reply is they all do it.

Sounds like I'll just have to live with it! It's mainly that it's collected around the DRL strip hopefully won't affect it by no means is it sloshing around more of a mist but fingers crossed won't have any affect on the life of the lamp

It's been raised a few times here. I get the problem occasionally but it disappears after a few days. LEDs don't generate much heat when they're on so is slower to clear. My opinion is it can't be good for the unit in the long run whether Xenon's or LEDs or anything.

Good to know it disappears. Unfortunately my vRS is not my daily gets driven 3ish times a week so I may look forward some remedy. I think I may give silica packets a go maybe just stuck to the cap behind the bulb. Only solution I can think of not too tempted to use heat as a way to get rid of the condensation I'd be afraid of water spots. Will report back

Which, for once, is actually true and accurate. LEDs (particularly) and plasma discharge (more than incandescents but less than LEDs) generate less heat to evaporate the condensate!
