There's a couple knocking about near us - both in the dark green.  One, with the 'adventure pack and external 'panniers' and one in matt finish -  the first looks daft but the second looks absolutely naff...

Just noticed this morning on the school run that there's a house not far from us with a new LWB Defender and a new Lexus RX on the drive - combined value probably more than the house they are in front of!

Easy to lease them so someone else is buying them and you hand them back in 3 years or less having paid for driving them.

You just need enough income to afford them or even not afford them.  Now with subscription you can get cars without even a credit check being done.

 

Buying a home / house with a loan might be over decades and you might not only have someplace to live or rent out but eventually own something of value in 3 decades.

There is an article in the Farmers Weekly.   A young farmer ordered 2 new Defenders.   The dealership canceled the orders because they say the  farmer is connected to the motor trade and an agreement with Land Rover means that they can not supply them.     The reason being they believe they are being bought to resell within 6 months for a profit.      The family connection to The Motor Trade is one that might be questionable.     Plenty Vloggers that might be Farmers are also Car collectors and even Dealers and might even have Trade Plates they use.
