vRS Sports mode review

Featured Replies

I now have Drive permanently set to Sport. so eager and perky now. in Normal, it tended to upshift too quickly, inevitably accompanied by uncouth surges in revs and shove when downshifting. now, being able to accelerate in-gear, it's much more refined. with dampers set to comfort, it's an unimprovable cruiser. such a good drive, that the only other cars i'd rather have is an RS Q8 or B5 Alpina Touring

bizarrely, the MPG penalty has been negligible. go figure. my guess is that the car was designed to drive in S mode, and N mode was merely a cynical emissions-passing exercise

My Octavia Scout is never out of sport either and does its best MPG in that mode too. I think it's a feel thing, I don't think the consumption changes, it's just that the car ia a wee bit sharper in response so there is no need to push it harder.

Your setup is bang on.

suspension in comfort but drive in sports mode. exactly the same as I have in the Q7 and it’s like it’s meant to be.

Comfort is too floaty for me, all I do is normal everything but comfort ACC

You have good and nice roads there down under, of course you don`t need any softener.

I use comfort often, when driving to summer house.
