DAB antennas

Featured Replies

I am thinking of arranging a group buy for two options of DAB antenna which will provide exceptional performance if you have a DAB head unit fitted in either your Octavia, Superb or Fabia and will work out a hell of a lot cheaper than if bought from your Skoda/VAG dealer

The two options are either an OEM replacement (see photo 2) or an external glass mount unit (see photo 3)

Both these units give good results with any DAB radio and are suitable for both use in the UK and Europe as they are 224/1400MHz.

Both kits will be provided with all interface leads which will give the user a plug and play facility (no need to keep on nipping down to Maplins!):D

If opting for the roof mount antenna I will include an interface cable which you will need to connect the existing radio cable to the antenna. Next, there will be a cable assembly which you will need to route the antenna to the head unit and finally an adaptor cable from the cable assembly into the head unit (instructions on antenna assembly and installation are included with both kits) This adaptor cable will fit Blaupunkt head units for sure but I don't know about other manufacturer's, but they may use the same SMB connector?

If opting for the external glass mount unit everything is provided in the kit with the exception of the adaptor cable for the head unit but again as with the roof mount this will be added in. With this option you don't need the interface cable from the OEM radio cable into the antenna as the installation is completely different. The antenna to radio adaptor lead will be included and as said before will definately fit Blaupunkt head units Woodstock, Nashville etc.

I have added a picture of the roof mount antenna in position (see photo 1 my Fabia Vrs) which as you can see is exactly the same as the OEM kit but in my opinion sexier!

This is not the start of a group buy so I have not indicated any prices and again just a insight into what is available and to gauge interest. If there is good feedback then I will approach the management and see if a go ahead is possible

Looks like either aerial's lead would fit a Pioneer DAB tuner.

Oh well, with 44 views and 1 reply (which was as much use as an ash tray on a motorbike) i think my question has been answered.

No group buy for this one:thumbdwn:

Will leave you guys to source your own DAB antennas:eek:

Yes sorry about that, I have found a local Carsound depot to fit a Dab/Fm roof aerial for

 If you fitted the extra DAB aerial to the inside of your windscreen would that not advertise to the scroats out there to come and pinch your new DAB radio ? I fancy a DAB radio but would go along with the replacement roof aerial after being 'done'
