Skoda Fabia Mk1 2001 caliper support bracket

Featured Replies

Hi

I wonder if the caliper support bracket on Fabia MK1 2001 is removable? I looked at mine but it seems not removable or is it all rust that hides the bolts? Problem is that 2 holes on the support bracket is broken so i cant tighten the guide pins.

Is there any instruction how to remove it? Or do i need to remove whole Wheel-bearing housing

It's all part of the wheel bearing housing on your car. Any mk1 Fabia with 239mm or 256mm front discs uses this style of carrier (but 239 and 256 versions are slightly different):

You might be able to repair the threads with some kind of insert? Otherwise, yes, the whole thing needs to be replaced.

Items no.7 here: https://skoda.7zap.com/en/cz/fabia/fab/2001-225/4/407-407010/

The first two item 7 lines, with PR code 1LM are left and right sides for 239mm disc version; the third and fourth are left and right for 256mm.

Certainly worth trying; changing over the whole thing isn't a quick and easy job, nor cheap unless you take a gamble on a secondhand carrier with unknown bearing inside.

.Hi, to follow this..Is this answer, the same for a MK2 Fabia, or are they removable carriers?  I have what is marked as FS111 callipers.

Mark 2 is mechanically the same, just a different body shell and interior, it's still a Polo 9N under the skin.
