Need help to decide best Octavia Tyres

Featured Replies

Hi all,

Just got a used Skoda Octavia but the tubeless tyres (225/45R17 W 91 Dunlop) on it need replacing.

I have done some searching online, but nothing shows whether the tyres are tubeless or not e.g.

1) https://www.michelin.co.uk/auto/browse-tyres/by-dimension/225/45/17/91/W

2) https://www.ractyres.co.uk/225-45-17?speed=w&load_index=91&brand=dunlop

Is it worth replacing the worn-out tubeless tyres with the same from any reputable brand, or switch to ones with tube?

How do I know if the tyre is tubeless or not?

What are your recommendations?

For some details, I have attached current tyre type.

Thank you.

Thank you John999boy

If you are after good tyres that dont cost too much. Try Apollo Aspire XP. They had really good reviews and out performed some premium brands in the tyre tests. Also consider Nexen NFera SU1. Then there are premium brands like Goodyear Asy 5 or Michelin PS4. I have the Goodyear on mine and cannot fault them for performance or price. My dad has the the Apollo XP on his car and he really rates them. Being fair I wish Id put them on my car and saved nearly £200, as they are really good tyres.

Thank you for the insight, I will read-up on Apollo XP, Michelin PS4 look good but they don't come cheap:-(
