2016 Octavia 2.0 tdi vrs coolant flush

Featured Replies

Hi do any of the good folks on here know how completely drain the coolant out of my 2016 2.0 tdi?

i removed a bottom hose to try and do it but only around 2.5 litres came out.

any help would be greatly appreciated.

It seems to be a little involved.  I found a good video which shows you how to do it on a 2.0TDI Engine on an Audi, but the process is identical for a Skoda Octavia.

@Mikesvrsestate did you manage to fully drain the coolant from the whole system, not only the radiator and connected pipes?

The Skoda garage (when I had it done on my 2019 Octavia TSI 2.0) basically said that it is a hose-off at the bottom radiator - lowest point - drain it all out.

Refill - fill up via header tank using a pressured airline if you have it, otherwise don't worry; using VCDS/ODBEleven, tell the car to purge itself and it will "burp" itself over a period of about 5 mins - keep an eye on the coolant level and don't let it drop below minimum.
