these tailpipes look very good! certainly better than 272/280 stock ones...

Well... that’s a matter of opinion. To me the, 272/280 is about being a Q, or Stealth car, not a “look what I got” car. But each to their own.

I just thought the hidden exhausts were a shame on the 220 as it’s pretty damn fast. Equivalent Audi and even Seat have visible tailpipes, not sure what Skoda we’re thinking.

The 280 tips are only available with the back boxes and they’re £699 each. At least I used VAG tips, I tried lol

I agree, and it is precisely for this reason that in my opinion the original tailpipes are ridiculous, even more so those of my version that no longer has the valves. If you look at them closely they are like this:

Even the new Passat 272 comes with hidden tilepipes :fubar:!  look at 1:31:

Maybe they’re trying to get us slowly used to cars without exhausts (electric future)

The new Audi S4, S5 and S6 are now V6 DIESELS only, and have FOUR fake exhausts!

Whoever makes these decisions is either demented or just trying to wind everyone up

and don't forget the fake exhaust sound too... 🤢🤮!!

we are victims of European regulations to lower emissions, as if the cause of the pollution were cars 🤦‍♂️.

Sorry for the off topic, I stop it here.

Interesting. Maybe the deletion of the valve unit has something to do with the introduction of the GPF on the 272?

I think it's just a matter of saving on production costs

I believe most Skoda Superb owners couldn't care less about the freaking valve in the exhaust. Fleet vehicles can have fake exhaust tips or no visible pipes whatsoever.

280/272 on a stage 1 map is a bit of a sleeper, but in this case no tailpipe would make more sense. I am not building a sleeper, but if I was, I would probably replace bumper and hide the tips completely under it.

I admit, my sleeper has evolved...

It’s funny, I did like the idea of hidden exhausts to a certain extent, it reminded me of an old jag that didn’t need to show off exhausts, it was just fast lol...

I had an idea in my head 2 years ago of what I wanted, I was originally thinking a standard pair of VAG round chrome exhausts like an older A6. After spending 2 grand on having it all changed/swapped/replaced because of a pair of complete morons, I came across the Rieger skirt and my ideas changed.

I’m well happy with it now, even if my circumstances mean I’ll have to let it go sometime soon my Superb is not like any other, I like that 👍

I agree, that really is ridiculous.

Exactly... we all know it’s China causing global increases in C02, with their man-made viruses, 5G radiation and controlling the sun....

The 280/272 is not a fleet vehicle. There are just 836 280’s / 272’s across SE L Exec and L&K types in the U.K. today and I’d hazard a guess that 95% of those have been bought outright or PCP’d by individuals, most of whom almost certainly DO care.

To quote Faith No More "I CARE A LOT". When you floor a stage 1 Sportline Superb with 360 ponies ripping up the tarmac it is somehow extra satisfying to see 2 large puffs of steam being blown out of those twin exhausts to remind you why you didn't buy the diesel.:hi:

You forgot getting Trump re-elected this November..........hang on a minute.........low flying pig overhead with exhaust flaps open.......no just a pigeon on a bombing raid.:tongueout:

For the sake of world peace and sanity, I sincerely hope not. The irony is Trump has completely ignored the fact that back in the early 00's, it was major US corporations who jumped and lead the world at saving billions, by moving their component/full product manufacturing out of the continental USA / Europe, across to where was it now..... oh yeah.... China and to outsource their IT support and dev to India, And if he bars Chinese businesses from operating on the Dow as he's threatened to do, then trillions of dollars will move from there to London, Frankfurt or HK.  Hey... Brainless... go right ahead I say... fill yer boots!

Oh yeah... I forgot about the Sportline line!

Yes. This.
But for me about 60bhp less, and no traction!

Lmao, liking the random Trump rant mid-thread

When I had my 300+bhp front wheel drive Octavia I used to give the 280 boys a hard time regarding how heavy the Superb is but the reality is you have total traction all the time, even on a soaking wet road so it really doesn't feel its weight because none of the available power is wasted unlike powerful front wheel drive cars.

I couldn’t afford the spec I wanted in a 280 which was a shame, but tbh I would have probably wrapped a 280 round a tree by now 🤦‍♂️

Thanks, I’ll be selling them again along with the Rieger skirt, I just wanted to finish the god damn exhausts for that sense of achievement plus I was the guinea pig for any other 220 owners who think their hidden exhausts are pants...

Here they are new:

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/323985435417

They bolted on using these:

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/143632937022

Exhaust tips (original) were removed using one of these:

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/274334662469
but if you have a half decent dremel that will work, but protect your eyes!!

EDIT: I left just over an inch of the original tips sticking out of the silencers, for the clamps to attach. If you cut it too far in the weight of the new tips will make them sag.

Nobody likes sagging

If I was going to have fake exhaust sound I'd want either Luke's landspeeder or The Back to the Future DeLorean sounds.  Basically a Boeing 727 or 737-200
