Oil is still above the hatched area, is still a golden colour, albeit, not as clean as it was obviously.   I filled the coolant at the same time too, that is also still at the max level.

That is a great post, thanks bud.   So, I have been told there is a lot of paperwork with the car, what that consists of, I'm not sure till i get there in the morning. How will i be able to

  • In the spare tyre well there should be a sticker beside the build sticker with '34F7' on it, a dealer stamp and date.   The Water pump is also the magnetic supercharger clutch and will be 9

All done, took my time and followed the guide. No issues at all.

What do we think of the old ones? Left to right as you look at the engine

They look good and as though they have not been in that long.

?

Do you have a feeler gauge and did you check all 4 plugs before putting them in, and have you checked these to see what they are at?

My dad has the gauge set which I used last night to check the new ones. They were all 0.8 i think if I remember correctly.

Haven't checked the old ones

i have little history. So no idea how long they've been in. Engine is only 15k miles old though, so potentially, they're the first set

Also, guide says 10mm socket, mine was a 16mm socket? Lol

If they have been in for 15,000 then they are damn good as is the engine.

*Oddly Skoda UK say that a car should be serviced by its miles not the engines age / miles.*

This meant that some might get a new engine and new plugs and oil and filter and the 'Fixed Service' at say 40,000 miles was a few months later and according to Dealers / Skoda new oil, filter and plugs could be required.

They are just 'Simply Stupid' a lot of the time.

See, I have absolutely no issue changing plugs every 10k miles. Its what I did in my 350Z because that used to eat spark plugs.

The actual procedure went well, so I have no problem keeping on top of it. I don't trust garages to change spark plugs, so I'll just do interims for them and do the plugs and filters myself
