Bulb warning light

Featured Replies

Hi guys & girls probably missed or not come across a link to this issue but worth an ask 😁

My motor seems to have found an random gremlin with the bulb out warning light coming on when i put head lights on in damp or wet conditions, some times comes on sometimes doesn't after switching engine off & back on usually resets it 90% of the time. I am not a practical person at all so wondered if anything else easy i can try to look at, have done the obvious checked all the bulbs which are all good, i think i am correct in saying i don't actually have front side lights as the DRL's dim when you turn main lights on which i still find amusing there are dummy bulbs in the headlight clusters.

Any advice, suggestions or links to post i may have missed would be much appreciated or do i need a bit of black tape to stick over the warning light 😜

Cheers

Arran

Is it definitely when you turn the headlights on? Don’t suppose you have LED number plate bulbs or anything that’s not standard?

LGM,

Yeah its not on until i turn the headlight dial on sometimes only does it with dipped lights not side lights but other times it does straight away but also not at all, definitely seems to be damp related??  Bulbs are all standard non fancy halogen ones.

🙄

I had a similar situation with one of my Octavia's once. Every time I washed the car the bulb warning light light came on for the front nearside dipped beam, but the light was OK. Eventually the bulb did fail. Never had the problem after that.

Change the bulb and see if it cures the problem. It's a cheap and quick option.

Whereabouts in East Sussex are you?

Guess all I can do is work my way around all the bulbs see if I can see anything obvious if not swap out for new 1 at a time & try it obviously have to wait for rain though 😬

I'm down on the south coast, Hastings 👍
