I've got the orange sticker  on engine Feb 2011 the ECU says cave on it yet the 34f7 wasn't done until sept 2014 not sure if that timescale is right was it down to the owner at the time to demand a replacement engine or was Skoda more than happy to inform you

Oil is still above the hatched area, is still a golden colour, albeit, not as clean as it was obviously.   I filled the coolant at the same time too, that is also still at the max level.

That is a great post, thanks bud.   So, I have been told there is a lot of paperwork with the car, what that consists of, I'm not sure till i get there in the morning. How will i be able to

  • In the spare tyre well there should be a sticker beside the build sticker with '34F7' on it, a dealer stamp and date.   The Water pump is also the magnetic supercharger clutch and will be 9

Anyone wanting to know how not to tune a CTHE might like to watch @dandanfings videoes or read the threads.

Tuning box fitted.  Down Pipes/ Cat Delete, attempted APR remap with ECU opened.

Then the Audi he had which was taken back by the lease company.

Now the new vids are under a new name and BMW etc.

"Cost 13 grand, got to remember!"

Na your memory is mince!

'Never cost £12,000 new either'.

Odd the thought that 'Skoda' were the ones that fixed the engine problems...

&Easy to forget what side the bonnet pull is of the 'One lady owners car' never raced or rallyed, when you are selling it....

@Madvlad65

'34F7' did not start in the UK until March 2014.

Late 2012 cars never had that.

Then in 2017 '34H5' started on cars 2013-2015.    It was not only vRS, it was any DQ200's in any Model. and SEAT, Audi & VW's

Should go to 'Barnard Castle' to test his eye sight.

VW Polo GTI went to the 1.8TSI from the 1.4TSI before going to the 2.0TSi. Just for the record and the sake of facts..

Have you looked to see if the exhaust is a standard one.  Or standard springs?

?

Have you put in 99 ron Super Unleaded yet?

Exhaust looks standard to me. Just looking at it.

Ride height suggests springs are also standard, not actually looked for any marks on them.

I ran it till it was nearly empty yesterday and brimmed it with momentum this morning

This is all I have that I can see without taking things off

That is OK, the orange sticker is not on your engine because it is a new / refurbished block.

But your ECU had a Orange Sticker with a matching number to the orange sticker on the old engine,

so is there an orange sticker on the ECU on it now?

There is a date code on the ECU on a sticker.     (Not the 4 number that an orange sticker has.)

Ecu is located where?

(Also, does this stupid black cover just pull off? Can't find any bolts or nuts holding it in)

ECU Behind the Air Box on Fire Wall.

Are you talking the Engine Cover.

Be careful with the rubber mount / bung.    Air filter needs torx.

Picture's not amazing, but thank you!

It says CAVE.

But the engine should have the latest parts, oil spray jets etc.

The date is on the ECU.

New one from 2017.   Good stuff.

I would want to Dyno the car and see just what you got.   I suggest a pretty good engine and maybe 185 ps plus as standard on 99 ron.

See what the spark plugs look like when removed.    Kept in order they are removed.

So if its had a new ecu, what does that mean about the engine mess?

It means chill.   Engine and a ECU were sent and things are as they should be.

Feed it not long life oil, 99 ron fuel, good spark plugs and filters and enjoy it.

Best concentrate on Brakes if they need servicing or pads / hoses etc.

See how things are. Maybe remove the rear weights if the are still on.

?

What tyres does it have on.

  • Author

**** tires. I'll get those changed soonish. I'll do spark plugs myself, you said denso ones yes?

Can do brakes myself too with no mither. They feel alright for the moment though

There is a great Spark Plug Guide by @UrbanPanzer

Techs too often make a basic error with Breather Pipes & 'O' rings.

http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/462285-spark-plug-guide

If you do your own oil changes as well and checks and maintenance no need for it to go into anyplace then for servicing.

The stamp in the service book is too valuable unfortunately 😕

@AmusedMussel

I totally disagree.

The reason there are so many dead Twinchargers are Main Dealerships with staff without a clue.

Too often they say, we service 1.4 TSI all the time,

they fail to see the irony.

'They all do that'.

That is normal'.

Never heard of that before.

1 litre in 1,000 km is what they use.

The spark plugs are good for 60,000 miles etc etc etc

Alright. Well, there is a 3month warranty from the dealer that requires it to be serviced at a garage. So after this one, i'll do it myself. I'm probably going to run it into the ground anyway.

Hahaha, funny thing.

I spent so much time looking at the engine, oil, bodywork and suchlike when I went looking at it, that I didn't notice the lack of headrests in the back 😅

So, does removing the white sock from the air filter make a difference or not?

In the real world I wouldn't imagine so mate, If the cars completely standard. A good set of tyres with feel quicker.
