Ouch. How did they hit you on the Near side?

Driver of the other car decided they were taking the wrong exit on a ring road and decided to a sharp right into my car...

lucky for me, the car behind the person that hit me had three police officers that had just finished their shifts... so they witness the whole thing.

I’m just waiting for the insurance companies to fight among themselves.

... and for your insurance premiums to rise next year, thanks to another idiot driver.

When the car is repaired, make sure they fully blend the colour into the other panels; insurers have been instructing body shops to stop blending on newer vehicles to save money and these metallics are really difficult to match. Also when it’s complete, if possible ensure you view it in direct sunlight and from multiple angles too as this will show up any shading irregularities.

Did the police say they were going to charge the other party with DWDCA?

I've submitted all info to insurance, i'm just waiting for them to send me info how to submit dashcam info and arrange for the car to be picked up to do an assessment on the car, my insurer is going down the non-fault route but anything can happen with insurance companies these days.

If they repair the car, I know it will never be the same and the paint won't match.

Correction, if the repairer isn't skilled or doesn't care then yes, if you accept their poor workmanship the car will never be the same and the paint won't match. On the otherhand, if the repairer is skilled nobody, including you, will be able to tell the difference.

^^ What he said however, even the very best painters can make mistakes.
Also, the insurer should just send a mobile assessor; they don't need to take your car away for assessment, especially when it’s light damage such as yours.
