iV...default drive mode from 'D' to 'B'?

Featured Replies

Heading says it all really...when setting off the default drive mode is 'D' as in any DSG, and to use the regenerative energy recovery mode you have to nudge the stick back to go into 'B' mode. I do this all the time so the question: can I swap so 'B' is the default? Can't see anything in the manual (frankly it's out of date in several areas anyway, already) and someone clever may know!

Does the individual mode stay put between starts? It does in my 64plate Octavia but there are many reports of newer Octavias not remembering the mode selection. Could well be similar with superb and something you just have to do.

Apparently there is a "recall" to get a new manual. I put my VIN into the Skoda checker and it said there was a recall, checking with the dealer they said it was for a new manual and they would order one (not had it yet) I agree the book is nearly useless so many things are not the same 😞

Many thanks both.

As VAG like to share, I’m sure it’s probably similar to the Golf GTE that my friend had a couple of yrs ago.

With that, I believe you had to select B each time, it wouldn’t remember it

I have the same car and the same problem. Actually there are several things about the software, that are not so clever. It seems, they have not really tried to use the car in practice, and then adapted the functionality accordingly. In my opinion, the car should preserve all settings/choices, when it is turned off. It is really annoying, that you have to reconfigure it, every  time you stop for gas or just need to take a break.

It seems all recent Skoda's suffer the same. Does it have individual mode? Can this be used to set the required settings and then you just need to hit the mode button and select it each time? Or get used to driving in normal for day to day? Put it in other modes for when you want more power or economy?
