There is nothing new about DQ200 DSG Clutch issues.

Forgetting anything about 2009-2012 and that issues, Synthetic oil, campaign 34F7,  then 2013-2015, Oil, Heat, Pressure, campaign 34H5.

You get to 2014/15 and Fabia Mk3 with a 1.2 TSI or 1.4 TDI and there are issues, a tpi, clutch upgrades and software.

Not just for the Fabias though.

Nothing special happened to DQ200,s when they were being used from 2015, or from 2018.

Same old same old,

some have issues and some have not and getting VW Group / Skoda to admit to them is something they do not do.

FAir enough but you never know - the technician might give some clues that might be of some value - the more information the better.

  • The only whiny noise I get is when my wife sits in the passenger seat..... 🤭

  • I hope it gets resolved for you.  I have no idea if the noise you are hearing is in any way normal/abnormal/terminal or a "feature" but someone will know (if they can work out what is the issue noise

  • So long as you let the oil settle before topping up so not to overfill????

The Automatic Specialists that deal with DSG,s & the companies / businesses that have replacement parts and software to resolve the failings with Clutches & MCU,s know what the issues are.

As to main dealerships and repairing DSG,s or replacing clutch packs some farm that jobs out to Automatic Gearbox Specialists, that is people with all the gear and more than ideas,

and that do not say 'Never heard of that before'  or they all do that.

If you get a Main Dealership Master Tech or Tech or Fitter to tell you what the issue is then it is the percentage of the millions of DQ200,s that Skoda produce for different VW Group brands and models are a bit duff.

Just to confirm what others have said, I think it's a clutch issue. I had a very similar noise on a brand new Yeti (1.2 Tsi DSG) in 2015. The problem started at less than 2k miles. I likened the sound to an owl hooting, and it occurred briefly when changing up form 1st to 2nd and 2nd to 3rd. The dealership though I was mad and it took at least 3 visits to replicate the noise with a Skoda technician in the car. It was eventually diagnosed as the clutch and repaired under warranty. No subsequent problems.

Hi All,

So I really tried to probe but didn't really get an answer other than the fact they agree with me it was the clutch and they changed it. Car is now all good and I did not hear any noises driving it home.

I think what really helped my case was having the video/audio recordings. Video is good as it shows it makes the noise as the car changes gear.

I also found a couple youtube shorts with the same issue and the fact in the comments the owners reported the clutch was eventially replaced.

Just worries me a clutch going after 50k miles on a 5 ish year old car but I gues I don't know how the previous owner drove it or looked after it.

Just glad I got it sorted and Cinch footed the bill as it would have been very expensive if not.

Update: After further diagnostics Skoda has agreed to replace the clutch free of charge :) They will need the car in for 1 or 2 days once part arrives

Hi

I think my Karoq DQ200 is having same issue. Chirping noise between 2nd and 3rd going uphill under a bit of strain. Seems to be a sweet spot where accelaration is a bit faster but more than that and it doesn't happen.

It's 2021 and only 33k miles FSH. I bought the all in plan start of this year.

Took it to dealership and showed them my video and they immediately said it is a known issue of a clutch plate warping or something and it's on their service bulletin or something? They said they've had a lot of these and the warranty application normally goes fine. Mine was rejected with a one liner saying part not covered by warranty. They offered goodwill of parts but labour is still > £1k.

The all in service plan warranty has clutch and brakes excluded as wear and tear items. 33K miles? This can't be right? It's a family car we aren't boy racers..

Any advice?

Thanks
