Engine Temperature Sensor?

Featured Replies

On the way to work this morning my engine management light came on. I checked the display for any error messages, but nothing there. Then I noticed the Engine temperature needle hadn't raised at all, and flicking through the display, the oil temperature was still at --

Arriving at work (short 8 mile journey) I noticed my fans seemed to be going very noisily at full blast.

This is a 2013 Octavia vRS TSI (Petrol)

Has anyone else had the same, or any ideas? Thanks.

I've booked it into skoda for Monday as a local garage hasn't been able to narrow it down yet, hopefully they might come up with an answer!

yes, that would be the thermostat housing.

Mine had the same on the day I bought it , luckly the dealer assumed it all and paid for repair ...

Common problem on the 2.0L TFSI gen3 ....

Thanks, that looks promising.... although I've just rang the parts department and looking at around £360 just for parts (if they were quoting me for the right bits, wasnt exactly sure what I was asking for, but I said thermostat housing) 😓

No invoice but they gave me the old part which I still haven't got round to throwing out!

The part# 06L 121 111 J  - when I looked this up all the pictures seemed to include the water pump part as well - hence the exorbitant price!

I can only assume the water pump part, in my instance, wasn't replaced though, just the defective thermostat section?!

Hope this helps.

Yes, it was the thermostat housing as you guys said. It's being replaced along with the waterpump tomorrow at skoda. May as well get the water pump changed whilst its all apart for a little more.
