Thule Easybase

Featured Replies

I've obtained a Thule 949 Easybase for a reasonable price, and I'm looking for advice from anyone who has experience.

The dedicated Thule 948-4 bag (110x55x53) is good quality but flipping expensive, has anyone used another bag on this rack or is the 948-4 Easybag the only game in town ?

Thule used to do a hard box for the Easybase/902/3 bike carrier ... I think it was called the Backup Box 900 .... I had one many years ago, I'm sure I paid about £300'ish and that was 15 years ago .... think your between a rock and a hard place ... Thule kit is excellent, buy oh boy do you pay handsomely for the privilege.

Good luck with your search

I think you've hit the nail, great quality stuff compared to the nasty rubbish that's out there but at £220 !

I had a Plan B however the day I bought the rack, Amazon stopped selling their £55 Amazonbasics 325 litre (?) cargo bag which was ideal

Thanks for taking the trouble to provide those links.

It grieves me to say it - but I think the solid base of the Thule version makes all the difference

Look up Fiamma Carry Bag and Carry Box as used on motorhomes.
