How long did your OE tyres last?

Featured Replies

Fabia PD100: 35K miles on Michelins.

Fabia vRS came with Michelins but I ditched them because they were too noisy; Toyo T1-R replacements lasted 20K miles.

The 1.4 16v...on her third set of tyres at 65,000 miles. Originally on continentials..which lasted near 35,000.

The VRS on ContiSport....11,000 miles and still in good condition...would estimate 10-15k more.

I got 18,500 out of the fronts and the rears still have 4mm left on them and they've done 24k miles now, they were michelins i believe.

I never had them rotated... should of in hindsight... I'm at 40k, the backs are original michelins and are nearly worn out. The fronts wore out at a little over 20k and my pirelli P Zero are now too struggling at 18k (but what a great tyre)...

Will need to replace all 4 in the next few thousand miles. Will definately be replacing them with P Zero Neros all round!

On my '04 vRS, Michelins rotated every 10k lasted 40k, and might have made 45 - but winter and wet was coming. Replaced with Avons - lovely in the wet but wear doesn't bear thinking about.

'06 has the Bridgestones, haven't decided if to go for Contis or Michelins - lots of m'way work, and a bit of sport round the back roads, Roger M
