July 2017 FL SEL VCDS adaptations don’t work

MrWJG

Recommended Posts

So I got a FL 2.0 TDI SEL on Monday and have been looking though the VCDS mods list. So far the only one that’s worked is the needle sweep and refill quantity. Has anyone any experience of the newer style coding as I’d really like to enable

Alarm chirp on locking

mirror dip in reverse

dual rear fogs

front fog cornering lights

I have tried the mods in the sticky at the top of this page but no bueno

I have full VCDS with HEX-USB+CAN cable

The sticky here is for PFL only, it’s not been updated for FL.

Mirror drop will never work without a memory mirror so don’t bother with that unless you have a 7 pin memory motor which was never standard without electric seats.

Dual rear fog coding is the same as PFL and will work unless you are double unlucky and you have a cluster that doesn’t have the LED strip installed.

Cornering lights for FL non vRS are as follows

Alarm chirp is as follows

1 - Module 09 - Electronic. Code (31347)
2 - Adaptation
3 - Signs response
4 - Sub - Akustische rueckmeldungentriegeln --- On
5 - Sub - Akustische rueckmeldungverriegeln --- On
6 - Sub - Global rueckmeldung --- On Akustische
7 - Sub - Akustische rueckmeldungSignalhorn --- On
8 - Sub - Menuesteuerung Akustischerueckmeldung --- On (On Screen Display)
9 - Sub - Dauer der vom akustischenrueckmeldung einfachhorn --- Normal (No alarm) or Kurz (with alarm)

Well that sucks, our 14 plate Alhambra has mirror drop and so did my 2010 A6, both of these didn’t/doesn’t have electric seats.

Thanks for the fog light information.

The rear dual rear fogs require to to select the lamp type as well remember. Something the guide doesn’t mention. The type will depend on whether it’s LED or halogen fitted.

They are led lights as far as I believe.

Not all facelift lights are missing the extra fog, mine have the fogs on both sides. Yeah, on the Skoda’s you need a memory mirror motor and they only fitted those with power seats. You can get them though so it’s possible to retrofit.

My 2018 facelift estate with basic rear lights had the both  bulbs fitted. I enabled the previously non operating  left one with VCDS . From memory I think I just copied the bulb type over from the working right side.

Was this in long coding and after following the guide for the pre FL cars??

i really want to alter the comfort indicators too but cannot find it as yet. I also find it really annoying regarding the mirror drop and the need for a memory seat being a prerequisite of it working when two other VAG cars had it operated without memory seats.

Activation of second rear fog.

I have a 2017 SE-L Estate RHD UK spec, with LED headlights and NON LED rear lights.

I found that only the right hand fog light came on but on checking established that there was a bulb fitted in the left hand cluster and could see it was not an LED through the lens.

I followed the initial steps to activate but nothing happened.

Then I found the key to the change that would activate it.

Controller 09 - Central Electronics

16 - Security Access - enter 31347

10 - Adaptations

Then look at both of the following settings to establish what the differences are.

Leuchte26NSL LA72

Leuchte27NSL RC6

When viewing either of the above there are 3 values that will be different:

LASTTYP which will be the top value

LICHTFUNKTION either A26 or A27

and

DIMMWERT AB26 or AB27

Whichever has the values in is the active lamp.

You need to make a note of them and make the other the same

The main one is the LASTTYP.

That indicates the type of lamp you have fitted. Right down the value as you will be looking for the same lamp on the other side.

All of the adaptations have suggested "32 allgemeine LED bis 12W"

This is a type of lamp and may not be the same as yours.

Once you select LASTTYP you will see a long list of different lamp types.

Select the one that matches the lamp you already have.

Then change

Both LICHTFUNKTION A26 and A27 to Nebelschlusslicht wenn kein Anhaenger gesteckt

and

DIMMWERT either AB26 or AB27 which ever is the setting that is on 0 to match the other value. I found it to be 100.

Hope this helps.

I found the above in the OBD Eleven Forum .

It worked fine with my basic LED rear lights which have bulbs in the rear fog lights.

Thanks for this. I’ll give it a go later when the kids go to bed. I’ll have to reverse the coding I did that didn’t work first though.

I was out fitting front mud flaps and some door sill protectors there and had a good look at the rear lights. LED’s for the normal C light and brake light with halogens for the fogs, indicators, and reverse lights. Both lights have fog light bulbs insitu.

Change number of flashes of comfort indicator
Very interesting for those who believe that comfort intermittent mode fall short with 3 flashes. The maximum value is 5 blinks.
1 - Module 09 - Electronic. Code (31347)
2 - Adaptation
3 - Select - Control of intermittent
4 - Sub - Komfortblinken blinkzyklen
5 - Change to the desired value - Maximum 5
6 - Reset factory settings on the screen lights.

i actually used an OBD Eleven App to enable the above. I used to borrow a hex can VCDS as my old VCDS which I use on my ancient (2006 ) Vw Eos won't work with my 2018 Octavia  so I  bought an  OBD Eleven and decided to try out one or two Apps as they were free.

I'm not a fan of Apps but it did work

Therefore I  cannot vouch for the above  but give it a try .

This doesn’t seem to work either

Not sure why, did 2 facelift cars with this coding just last week. See what bits it does accept and take it from there. Might work without every box being ticked.

I shut the computer down lol, went at it again and the comfort indicators and alarm chips now work although these are very very quite compared to other vag cars I’ve had. My Audi was very loud this is barely audible.

That’s normal, it’s not very loud.

Thanks, the page you first sent about the cornering lights what’s the top part as that would appear to be regarding temperature. Is that part of the fog light coding as this is the only thing that won’t work as yet

Yeah it is. I don’t pretend to know what it is, but it’s not activated on the FL cars like it is on the PFL but once you make those changes they work :)

No worries, I’ll give it a bash tomorrow.

Thanks so much.

This now fully works. I wonder what led bulbs I can find now to match the led headlights.

Thank you for this. It’s done and working. I also got the comfort flashes changed to 5.

It would appear that everything so far bar the dropping mirror works. I must look into the rear lights on with DRL’s like the Scandinavian option my A6 had. This was great for the winter and the dull days.

I’ve upgraded all the lights to full LED bar the H21W fog light as I don’t have any in stock. They all work inside and out with not a single error code so far.
