Conversion from left hand to right hand driving

Featured Replies

It seems that when Skoda create the right hand drive version of the car they just move the steering wheel.

The new Colombus display is an example. It needs to be flipped so that the home/menu buttons are next to the driver not at the farthest reach. The navigational information that is useful would be more in the line of sight. It's a totally digital so requires no hardwear changes.

It is vitally impossible to get cool air to your face. The low level central vent his your hands first. The door side one shuts down when you point it at your face.

I think a little more thought needs to be given to make it more user friendly for those with right-hand drive cars.

RHD cars always get an "after thought" conversion, the majority of worldwide sales are LHD cars and that's how cars are initially designed.

On some the conversion is OK, some it's poor and some it's downright bad.

As above always the way with RHD conversion of models. The MK3 had the bonnet release lever on the passenger side (drivers side on LHD) and they didn't bother moving that. Has that been fixed on the MK4 or the same?

I don't think it should be different. LHD passangers are getting cold air in their faces :)
