Octavia MK4 washer bottle cap

Featured Replies

Does anyone know the part number for the new cap fitted in the MK4 as I would love to get one is miles better than the two handed fiddly one we have on our cars!

Kind Regards

Brilliant thank you very much- ordered.

After contemplating one of these for months, I've just ordered one from the link above. Just had a "because you purchased a ........" suggestion from eBay, for a "6lb wood splitting maul".......

If I need one of those to fit the cap, that's simply not clever 😅😅

Agreed, some of the suggestions are very like predictive spelling ones.

Helps my six year old do the engine bay checks with me, he dosen't spill the washer fluid now:) or simply for those with geriatric fine motor skills.

The problem with the original cap is you have to have one hand on the cap to stop it from flipping back on whilst trying to pour water in- I've never ever in my 34 years of driving had such a stupid washer bottle cap as the original in this car hence wanting to fit the better designed one.

Can you not wedge the original cap under a nearby pipe or piece of bodywork when open..???...   That's what I do with my mkii

I tried that but it kept moving so anyway better designed one is already ordered and I will be pleased to fit it

But thats just a work around.  you can now get the new "simply clever" version.;)

yeah - but this neat cap is a much more elegant solution, not expensive either.

I agree after seeing new cap fitted to the MK4 I was sold straight away. Going to get some bonnet struts next- can't understand why such a large bonnet didn't have them fitted from factory- the MK4 has bonnet struts too!

After fitting it, I spent a full 5 minutes in aesthetic ecstasy, flipping the silicone lid off-and-on, off-and-on, in pure tactile delight.

SWMBO looked at me like I was mad. Then she saw it, tried it, and that was the rest of our evening...

Also, definitely get these. Not quite as tactile, but definitely one of the best simple mods.

I had bonnet struts on my 2007 Citroen C5 which by Skoda standards I would say was a better built car - quieter, no bottle cap issue, no booming, same size interior but better folding for seats- why didn't Skoda make the Octavia seat base fold forward like Citroen did years ago?? I had bonnet insulation on that car standard too!

Got one from superskoda yesterday along with several other 'goodies', fitted easily and happy that I should spill a lot less washer fluid now ;)

I was after parts for a replica of their tridem  (not really!).

Nothing exciting really just some brighter bulbs for the boot and some projector warning bulbs for the front doors (couldn't find non-vRS red ones so they're white).

More updated bulbs to follow...

Funny so your about the same age as me - the young ones these days won't know what we are talking about! I've got a MK3 Octavia and would love to change the daylight running lights from a yellow tint to something that looks more in keeping with today's new cars ie white- any ideas what bulb could do that- from what I understand the sidelight bulb is also the headlight bulb when the headlights are switched on - never seen bulbs like that but then I'm new to Skoda as my last car was a Citroen from 2007 so I've got some catching up to do tech wise.

If you, like me, have Halogen headlamps then the main beam and DRL are both in an H15 bulb and the dipped beam is an H7 bulb.

Yes H15 that's it, any better versions of this bulb that show white instead if a warm soft orangey glow on drl?
