Think that's the later type isn't it sep? The OP's will be the one with cable captive at sensor. Non-interchangeable I think, even with an adapter loom, 'cos the rack's also different.

@Tech1e please confirm/correct me if you don't mind?

thanks for the quick replies;

I checked the German firm-left hand drive part only.

A mate called today, he has one from an 03 reg--its not the 1-piece moulded loom, but the one were the loom connects at the sensor with a multi-plug---will this fit mine ???

i cant get the part till monday anyway, but it would be great to know if it will fit?

thanks again

^ No it won't fit. You need the one that has the cables that are directly attached to the sensor as Wino said.

Isn't the one sepulchrave posted the right one though? I thought the later ones with the plug look like this?......

^ I'm confused Lee. Isn't that ebay link of yours the same auction as sep linked to? For a later, non-captive-cable sensor?

Edit; OK, I'm pretty sure his link used to go to that same auction, but now goes to one for the correct style, but maybe LHD version? Not seeing PN?

@Daddyfixitsnew1   Here's one for correct part with matching PN: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/NEW-Genuine-Audi-VW-Seat-Skoda-Steering-Angle-Sensor-6Q2-423-291-A/203070035069?hash=item2f47ead47d:g:XmIAAOSw6v5fLSOg

Oh that's very odd. His link keeps changing. It was for the captive cable type when I posted. I can see why you were confused. Must be the Halloween ghosties playing about

Very odd. It's back how it was now?

But the OP must've seen it in same form you did (and I did just now), cos he commented on it being LHD only.

:spooky:

Yeah, showing as the non-captive type currently.

yes, I did see the pictures posted,  I have spent today on a load of European sites but they are all listing as left-hand drive fitments...

Tomorrow I will start ringing all local breakers, then further afield.

What about the one wino posted?...

I really wouldn't bother with a second hand one. What if it doesn't work? Can you be sure it's another faulty sensor, or will you change the pump.

Might as well try Briskoda parts, link is my sig.

fabias awaiting sensor which may arrive 6th or 7th  ( its parked up at mates garage--taxed last week),  other car went to different mate yesterday for welding repair to nsf out-rigger/ jacking point ready for its mot test on saturday---(road tax reminder arrived today)  & both cars are overdue service as i bought a shed load of filters when eurocar parts cocked up their on-line prices !   So lockdown will be spent farting about with the cars, getting ready for winter and playing in the man cave out of sight.
