2019 vRS Skoda Connect Activation or lack of!

Featured Replies

I've been onto my local Pullman Skoda for probably 5 weeks trying yo get my Skoda Connect app activated so I can lock and unlock my car using my phone, no idea why but every time I call, service manager is always unavailable and reception send an e-mail reminder. Probably why main dealers are treat with such contempt.

Any suggestions on how I can get this activated? Anyone with a contact at Skoda UK?  I have submitted my licence so it's not that.

Also, does anyone know if you have to select a service partner to get all functionality?

Cheers all.

I've send you a PM - give me a shout and I'll give you a hand with getting Skoda Connect activated.  You will need your mobile phone, a USB lead and some time.

We will also need to get you registered on the Skoda portal.  Once that is all done, your services should be live.

Thanks

@vRS245MGI hope you don't mind giving everyone an update.  Several messages backwards and forwards between us.  I think that we had an odd situation - where the Skoda Connect service has been upgraded for the e-call system or Connect Care system, but it hasn't been activated properly.  There is a license outstanding within the car (got 7 months remaining), but the car itself does not recognise any of the Connect Care services.  This could be that that the dealer has tried to implement Connect Care, but hasn't done it properly (implimented this via a license purchase, but not implemented this via a license key option).

Sometimes I think it maybe worth getting Skoda Customer Services involved.  If you canny use a service, because the car is not configured correctly, then you need your Skoda Connect services put on pause until it is fixed.  Baring in mind, it costs £40 for the Infortainment option alone, and I think another £30 for Skoda Connect Care.

What is this skoda connect lark?

Arh....

Take a look here...https://www.skoda.co.uk/owners/skoda-connect

Sounds a bit big brother to me. Not for me. Although I like the ability to see if car's locked.

Not worth bothering with IMO. Missus got 6 months free when she bought her Octavia last year, I used the app for about 5 mins then never used it again.

The only bit I thought might be useful is the map showing where you have parked your car but in the year and a half since we got the car we have never forgotten where it is :)

I've used the VW version twice now to remotely unlock the car from work, when the missus has locked her keys inside on the drive at home...lifesaver.

Never could understand how it locked with her keys inside (it has keyless entry/start), unless I locked it with my key when hers were still inside?

  • 8 months later...

Hi,

my Škoda CONNECT license expired last month, I have a Octavia 5e5 2020 - Amundsen nav system...but it have no remote lock/unlock function and I dodn't know what benefits brings the activation to me except online route planing, news and weather....

Anyway, is there any possibility to activate it withouth of purchasing? :)

TNX and BR,

Oliver

Firstly, I think it is worth reading up on Skoda Connect and what it does.  https://www.skoda-auto.com/connectivity/connect

There are two parts to Skoda Connect - Infortainment Online (which is route planning, live traffic updtes, news, weather, petrol stations etc) and the other half is Care Connect.  You will generally know if you have Care Connect if you have an SOS button above your head.  This is the bit that does remote locking/unlocking and reporting of your car's status to the Skoda garage.

At the moment, Skoda Connect have a special offer on to "try" their services - obviously people realising that the service can be replicated via Android Auto or Apple Carplay (and loosing money to those services).

Otherwise you have to pay for the services in question....sorry.

thanks for your reply. You are right, I had that service for one year activated (first year is included) but I think price about 50 EUR is to high only for Infotainment online service for 1 year.

Thanks any BR!
