Coding for rear lights on with DRLs with auto lights.

Featured Replies

I had someone round to do this on my Citigo and my Octavia. The Citigo was no problem but he couldn't find the options in VCDS to do the Octavia. Can anyone provide the coding required?

Sure, can you post an autoscan and an adaption map for 09?

Hopefully you're VCDS friend took both when they were connected :)

If he did, he didn't tell me , so I haven't got either.

Then I'd suggest asking to see if they do ;)

Once we have an adaption map, it should be possible to suggest the coding. There are a few variants for the Octavia so it's best to see how the car is currently configured before suggesting changes.

If you mean Scandinavian DRLs, you are looking for unit 9 central electrics and change...

To clarify for OP, that's an adaptation channel change not a coding change.

Thank you, I'm sure my man will understand.

Is that what we’re wanting here though? I’ll preface by saying I last did this 4 years ago. But that adaptation above turns on the rear lights, numberplate lights and dash lights, no?  What we’re actually wanting to do here is add a function to each rear cluster and make them daytime running lights?

I have no problem with that adaption if the rear lights come on with the DRLs

Cool. Was mainly just highlighting there was two options available. I went with just the rear lights on their own.

Thank you, I've passed both options on to my man.

I'll check my lights tomorrow now youve mentioned it. I lifted the adaptation straight out of my history so I may have all the rear lights on all the time, I've never thought to check! It doesn't bother me but for accuracy I'll double check 🤣

Thanks to everybody for their help. My man came back today and I now have rear lights on with the drls and the dash lights which suits me fine.

We tried to find the correct place in the application which name I can't recall. For some reason there were a lot of unnamed selections under "9 Central electrics". Can someone recall what channel should the change be made and from what value it should be changed?

It might be worth posting a VCDS autoscan along with an adaption map from 09.

Your profile suggests you have a Citigo which will be quite different to an Octavia electrically.

You are correct, I mistakenly wrote to this forum. I will have to check the citigo area for more information. Actually we had tried to find the channel with OBDeleven and Ross-Tech tools, not the VCDS with out success yet.

VCDS is the Ross-Tech tool?
