Skoda MK3 interior light

Featured Replies

I think this topic has been covered before but could some give advice as to the problem .I can put the interior lights on by each switch so it not the bulbs but the light won't come in when opening the doors

The switch has three positions - off, on & switched.

Yes it has three settings on the switch . The light doesn't work when pressed towards the windscreen for the interior light

Sounds like time to check the fuses.

The front interior lights work separately when pressing the left or right buttons .it's just the center switch does not work the lights. If a fuse was blown Shorly the lights wouldn't work at all

OK, with that information and knowing that the middle light doesn't come on with the switch in either on or switched positions it sounds like either the bulb is blown (check with a multimeter) or volts aren't getting to the bulb due to contact problems - time to get the multimeter out and do some tracing.

Does the Interior light when opening the door use the same two bulbs if it does then I don't understand as they are working

Does the rear interior light work normally?

Always? If always then the timer has kicked in to turn the lights off to prevent battery drain - so the problem is with the door open switch in the drivers door.

Yes always they don't come on . I'll have a look for the door switch .Thanks

Ok I've checked the door there's no switch . But pushing on the centre switch while it's in the on position does light the bulbs but still cannot get the lights to work in the switched position . So I'm now getting to see why the lights don't come on .It looks now it's the rocker switch or the circuit that there Attached to

Have you changed the bulbs  to LED prior to having problems? If so have a look at the following link from a while back

No no bulbs have been changed . So I'm thinking the switch or the circuit board is faulty .Does anyone know how the get the circuit board out ? And where to get a new/ second hand one

The switch is built in to the door lock, it's not a separate switch like in the old days.

The only thing is why doesn't the interior light when in the on position it only lights the interior bulbs when I press hard on it so i'm not Shure it's the door switch

You keep drip feeding us new information! That certainly sounds like the switch contacts in the roof light are 'iffy'.

Yes that's what it's pointing too . I'll have to find out how to remove the circuit board and switches and see if I can find a fault with either . Then find another if they are at fault . There doesn't seem to be any screw's that hold it in

Google will assist - it's not too hard to do but it's easier to watch.
