Prior to lockdown, I had a guy come over to enable a whole load of functionality on his VRS 245 Challenge Estate in Black - his car was an MY20 spec vehicle [the last hazaar for the MK3].  It was a VERY nice car and the owner was a lovely guy.

I went to town to try and activate as many functions as I could in a couple of hours - including updating the firmware on his Amunsden and upgrading his maps.  There was a lot to do.

 

One thing I fell down on - was setting up Hellphase and the whiskers on his LED lights.  Whatever I did, I could not activate them.  Similarly, even ODBEleven turned up its nose at trying to activate this feature, so I'm somewhat stuck.

Before he left, I grabbed all the settings on the 09 module via a Controller Channel Map.   I suspect I'll probably need the LED Left and LED Right lighting modules, but that info will have to wait until he next visits.

 

Can you see anything obvious here?  Grabs were taken post-changes.

 

One thing that slightly worried me; it looks like the car is still in 'Transport Mode'; but I could be wrong here.  I definately didn't activate Transport Mode, but the car was not totally behaving itself, so suspect that this could be the source of the problem.

I'm not 100% sure what you mean by "setting up Hellphase and the whiskers on his LED lights".

 

At a guess, it feels like you want the LED whiskers to flash with the indicators. Having looked at the adpmap, it suggests your trying to get the front fogs to flash with the indicators:

If you can confirm exactly what you want to achieve I'll take a closer look. I've not played with this stuff on my car but I have some ideas 

 

As for transport mode, it can be sometimes left enabled from new but I'm not sure how much it effects things. Personally, I would have disabled it but I doubt it super important if most things seem happy.

 

 

If you have an original scans/adaption maps (ideally all modules) for this car, can you PM them across assuming the original owner is happy to share them? Curious to see what changed between the MY18 'edition' and MY20 'challenge' 245 cars.

Oh, one other quick note, it looks like the second rear fog has been enabled on this car. At the moment Leuchte26NSL LA72-Lasttyp 26 is set to 40 - allgemeine LED. I'd suggest using 32 - allgemeine LED bis 12W instead so it matches the other fog lamp. I doubt it makes any real difference it just feels more correct to me

Yerr - that was me.  The instructions you gave for my MY19 - also worked with the 245 Cup Challenge MY20 car; although helpfully, VW relabelled most of the Leuchte26NSL LA72-Lasttyp 26 as he has full LED rear light package, but I'll change it over to 32.  There seem to be so many variants on rear light clusters its hurting my head!

I'm trying to achieve Hellphase turning lights - alternating white and yellow turning signals.  I also want to enable alternating whiskers flashing on/off as per my MY19 Scout and MY18 VRS.

It looks like the instructions you've followed are for cars with halogen DRL at channels 2 and 3?

 

I would revert those changes, I think the originals should be:

I think the DRL LED drivers are connected to channels 8 and 9 but it's not super clear what makes them dim as they appear to be 100% brightness for all modes. Feels like it could be a dataset thing for the two light control modules (address D6 and D7)?

 

Have you seen a video of a FL MK3 with the DRL brightness increasing between indicator flashes, I had a quick look and couldn't... Happy to be wrong though!
