New Jeddah circuit very fast, but reminds me of Valencia. I dont recall the racing there being very good; I cant see the overtaking potential here at Jeddah either. Plenty of safety car action though, I expect.

With it being narrow, twisty and fast, it looks dangerous. I dont want to see a repeat of Franchitti's Houston smash or, worse, Krosnoffs Toronto one.

Just watched the feature race. The team whose driver is always hyper aggressive on lap 1 are seemingly very upset that it didn't go all his way this time. Maybe he shouldn't run the opposition off or

If you haven't seen qually catch it on C4 from 840 tonight.

and the race too...

I expect fresh engines and grid penalties for both next week. but I'll not be watching due to my flight times.

Enjoy the final race.

Just doing the highlights.... what a mess!!

If driving standards don't improve someone is going to get seriously injured or even killed - the race stewards need to read the rule book and properly enforce it IMHO.

If i read the news correctly this morning, then there was a 10 second penalty (but no real penalty) for an effective brake test, including actually applying the brakes.

IMHO (and I'm not a steward) it's not enough as it allows RB to go into the next race ahead, so if neither finish, Max wins.

Bearing in mind that almost happened, then I'd say one point off, so Max had to finish the next race to win the championship would have been a suitable penalty.

As it stands it's another (IMHO) dangerous move, which hasn't really had any penalty for it.

Yeah its almost certainly going to end in a crash, and the FIA wont chuck whomever causes it out of the championship like in 97, when it was a meaningless punishment  for Schumacher.

Wow. The F1 race director today actually suggested this very sanction above ^^^^^ can and will be employed against drivers or teams who crash the opposition to win the title.

Red Bull better have the fastest car then on Saturday and Sunday then.

Business is just that, all about business.

In other news today, Channel 4 are to be showing the finale live... not that it will help me at 37000 feet onboard Ryanair though...

I'm working on Sunday 😞 No doubt somebody, somewhere will mention the result 😞 😞 😞

Reminds me of ‘the Likely Lads’ episode where Bob and Terry are trying to avoid learning the England match score...

tbh, I’m quite happy to know the result before I watch it, but having said that, , I intend to be be watching C4 all Sunday afternoon!

So here's a question. The lights go out, Hamilton leads into the first corner, closely followed by Verstappen...who dives up the inside and takes them both out! as he then wins  the F1 title on his superior number of victories that year...but... Hamilton runs back to the pits and arrives just in time for Bottas to pull in and give his car up to Hamilton (who luckily has a spare seat in the back of the pit). Would this still be allowed under current rules?  I suspect not?

The last time that was allowed was back in the 1960s I think. If not, it was banned in the 1950s. I also think that the stewards will penalise the offending driver points in this event.

Collins did it for Fangio, but I wondered if it was one of those strange laws that was never repealed in the way that it's still illegal to eat orange smarties on the Northern line on the first Tuesday of the month.

Rule changed in 1961 to deny points to drivers of shared cars.

Still happened in the British GP 61 (Fairman/Moss) & US GP 64 (Clark/ Spence).

I think it was done for the prize money, even if there were no points to be had.

Credit where it's due.

Well done RedBull.

Last minute changes of wing level & tyre strategy, as well as a brilliant 2 lap qually strategy for both cars worked out so well.

So Max and Lewis have a crash, Lewis legs it back for the Bottas car (Max remains seated in is his car throwing the steering wheel out and anything else he can pull off in the cockpit), goes on to win after restart but receives no points. He is then equal to max on wins and so shares the championship with him?? Just curious

At least I feel happier about the starting grid for this final race. Lando already said he doesn't know if he wants to get wrapped up in the front two's race (sensible) and Lewis is much less likely to throw his car up the inside of Max in a desperate do or die manner - or, if the roles had been reversed, a win or win situation for Max.

Countback would continue...

Who's got more 2nd place finishes?

It's Max!

Hmm interesting. Mind you, I put a bet on Max to win the championship before the season kicked off, so there is some compensation :)

Happy to be able to watch this on poverty TV that i pay for a TV licence to be able to view.

Almost exciting waiting to see if the engines hold out on the 'important' cars.

Almost exciting waiting to hear the complaints and arguments after the race.

That was not right.

Max deserved A win but not like that.

Bit controversial at end ,was rooting for lewis but thats racing and nice to see a new champion ,it needed a shake up .

I’m the first to admit I don’t like verstappen (or Hamilton much). However letting only enough cars through, so the car on brand new soft tyres could have a go at the car on 40 lap old hard tyres…

That was plain wrong. Either let non through or all. If none had gone, then I still think max would have been on him at the end, but it would have been fair.
