Pfl Xenon Retrofit

Featured Replies

Has anyone done the xenon retrofit in a pfl, is it worth it over the halogen lights?

Yes on our 07 and definitely.  I tried 50w hids initially but they kept throwing codes when high beam was used for some reason even though they were in the dipped projectors, so eventually went for a 35w kit from London Colour on eBay and had them coded.  No issues with alignment or beam and no problem with the MOT.

Have you got a link for those?

Just as an FYI, the H7 HID kits aren't road legal and may cause your car to fail the MOT.

If you want to retrofit factory xenon's properly, you'll need two original xenon headlights, a range controller with level sensors and headlight washers.

As the pre-FL cars are getting on a bit now, you might find the projector reflector surface has become discoloured or dulled. If this is the case then a new set of quality projectors should help improve light output :)

I think I've had the H7 kit in for about 10 years now and its passed every MOT no issues...   But you are correct it may not be the same for everyone.

Managed to source some xenon lights and ordered the kufatec adapter loom for now.

I'll tackle the rest of the job when it's a bit warmer.

Will these need coding in?
