Xenon Headlight adjustmens screws, how many, which direction?

Featured Replies

The Skoda Superb 2 pre Facelift with Bi-Xenon has 2 plastic adjustment screws on each of the headlights.

Does anybody know which screw is adjusting which direction? (Left/Right and Up/Down)

Does anybody know which way to turn the screw to the right direction (clockwise/CCW)?

Is it the same for left hand and right hand cars?

This workshop shows three screws:

Is this for an older model or did I miss one adjustment screw?

That link is for the mk1 Superb so it doesn't apply to your car.

For the mk2, the adjustment screw nearest the wing is the horizontal adjustment and the screw nearest the centre of the car is the vertical adjustment. For a car with bi-xenons and AFS, you will need to put the AFS controller into Basic Settings with a diagnostic tool before doing any mechanical beam adjustment.

Thanks :)

Do you happen to remember which way to turn the adjustment screws which direction the light move?

I don't know, sorry, and the service manual doesn't day anything about it either. I'd say turn gently in either direction and see where it goes.

best way to find out is to park close to a wall, turn the lights on and experiment. Ideally a wall with bricks so you can check that they are level.

I had a problem with my skoda and took it to a garage i use that that only does MOTs. They allowed me to check it on their headlight checker gadget. My lights are bi xenon and i should probably have put it into maintenance mode but i havent had any issues.
