Delivery times?

Featured Replies

Ordered my VRS in January. Being delivered today. Moon White with DCC. Updates from Johnsons in Brum have been good and they explained that cars for lease seemed to be a lower priority than those which had been purchased which makes sense. VWFS been great about extending my old lease but I'm still annoyed they haven't covered the 3 Yr service cost.

I didn't. Maybe I should have. Too late now. 😞

I am in the UK. I ordered my Tdi 4x4 vrs hatch in red with DCC and rear view cam on 10/8/21. When I spoke to my dealer he informed me that there isn't even a build date yet for my order.

I ordered a estate  4x4 tdi,in may 21.after 8 delivery dates I have yesterday received 2 build dates weeks 50 and 10 mins later it went to week 4.deliver 18 February not confirmed,I might as well wait until the new regs come out.it looks like you are in for a long wait like a lot of us on this site.

Thanks Joss1733. I always knew this was going to be a long wait. Original delivery date was Feb 2022 but I knew that was probably optimistic. I expect it to be more like July...if I'm lucky. I just wanted to share my progress with everyone.

Hi all, just an update on this topic... Ordered a 1. 4 TSI iV vRS dsg estate in metallic race blue with winter pack, electric tail gate, virtual pedal, dynamic indicators. Through a lease company ordered 28th June just been confirmed at Port and delivery due to dealer by 31st Dec.. So I make that 6 months and 1 week.  Had 4 push backs on the delivery date from originally being told 1st Sept delivery. Have received Registration and finance documents. I really hope for all of you still waiting that your vehicles arrive here soon.

l'm thinking, that if he was originally quoted 8 weeks for delivery when ordering, that the car must have been already been built or previously ordered

Finally here. Its very very good. Worth a 8 month wait? Yes but only cos I was able to extend my existing lease...

Bit offtopic, but I'm curious. I see a lot of people leasing the cars, instead of buying. Is that a common trend in UK nowadays?

Suits me to lease as this is my next company car and will have 80000 miles put on it in 4 years ! I could buy myself and charge to the company but does not suit me personally to own a car after 4 years with 80 k on it . its a personal choice I suppose. A lot of people will also Lease purchase with a final balloon payment to own the car outright or just renew the lease for another new car

When you lease companies offer better rates and you lose similar amount of money, but are not attached to the car in any way, so if you drive a lot it makes financial sense to just keep leasing and driving new cars all the time.

I have leased up to now 3 cars and find it suits me.i do around 15/20000 miles a year.i do take the car into Europe .so having a new car every 3/4 years gives me piece of mind whilst driving in Europe.

So much easier. Cheaper per month and you don't have to worry about ownership/car sales or values etc. Having said that, the current chip shortage may have temporarily changed the calculations with increased second hand values but that will all change again in a years time.

I see thanks for the replies. Here, if you don't drive a lot leasing is a tad more expensive.

That's illegal, you have Canton and a delivery date 😐

I agree, you are very lucky ,just cannot work it out how some people order there cars  and get them so quick .with me it is going to be at least 9 months or more.is there anyone out that's in the know( not rumours or what the black cat from next door says) how skoda ordering system works.

I think it's down to transport issues and logistics. The Big dealers get full car transporter loads and the smaller ones have to share loads. If you were the company delivering to UK dealers from UK ports, one full car transporter to one dealer destination is so much more profitable than multi drops. So stack the rest until you have a full load to one dealer or two dealers at most.  Skoda pay all transport cost from factory to dealership so probably paying rock bottom rates to hauliers and shipping, so they have to make the best of it... Probably part of the riddle... Chips, covid and demand make up the rest of the riddle as to why some unlucky buyers have to wait ridiculous times for delivery.... Or you've ****ed on a bishop 🤔

Wow, just found earlier post!.... I hope you get good news soon.

Just had notification that my car is built, and now on the way to the port before coming over to the U.K., expected to be delivered in January.

The details you’ll all want:

Ordered through Leaseplan, placed with Listers in Coventry

Octavia SEL 1.4 PHEV/iV

Brilliant silver, otherwise no extras

Order placed with Leaseplan in June, but accepted by Skoda in early July. Was quoted 20 weeks lead time, will come out around 25 depending on final delivery date!

Good luck to you all!
