Delivery times?

Featured Replies

I wonder if this is the opposite for lease companies who order huge amounts vehicles, but are generally standard spec with no options?

  • Well 13.5 months waiting and I finally collected my Octy Estate vRS yesterday. I couldn't be happier  👍😀

  • After 13 months waiting my SEL iV Plug in Hybrid arrived.    All seems good with it so far, just to understand some of the infotainment features!

  • Just took delivery of mine but had to cancel some of the optional extras

there seems to be no pattern to delivery times and it's all down to pot luck[ or is it :x  ]

i wonder if what you have paid for your cars or the price you agreed when ordering, makes any difference

if  someone has managed to negotiate a big discount, say 20% plus  off  list price  and someone else was prepared to pay full list price

who would you prioritise ?

It's unlikely that the factory will know what discount any customer has negotiated with a dealer - the contract is with the dealer not the importer and certainly not with the factory.

i'm not so sure about the factory not knowing about prices,  some dealers will buy more cars than others

for example a dealer selling lots of cars through a broker,  might have a stack them high and sell them cheap way of working, and that dealer has to buy his  cars from skoda at an agreed price, which will surely be cheaper the more cars he buys, and the cheaper skoda sells them , the less profit  😂

Yes a complete farce, whoever the skoda man in charge of deliveries is a joke he could not run a tap.just wonder why there is nothing at all off skoda regarding this lottery,as you it could be down to price but surely not it would be a or disaster but do they care????

there must be a reason why time of ordering does'nt seem to make any real difference and price maybe  one reason

dealers can never be trusted, some more so than others

Quick example,  8 months ago someone has managed to negotiate £8k off a vrs estate bog  standard in white, buyer has no idea when the car is going to arrive, as dealer says car still waiting for build date., however the car is on a boat and will be in the uk shortly.

meanwhile, someone comes into the dealers showroom flashng the cash and is willing to pay full list price for a bog standard vrs estate in white but wants it now

dealers need profit to survive, and times have been hard lately as they cant source 2nd hand stuff,

i'm not suggesting they are all at it , but i bet it has happened   😂

I’ve had a chat with a friend who is a fairly senior regional Audi guy and he says Audi are running at 10 months wait for their new cars.

Been watching this topic for a while now, we ordered 5 Octavia's IV SEL's in white on the 24th of June this year, from Pulman Skoda in Durham, we have been given hardly any update except for us communicating once in a while, no bulid dates, how every currently they have been given a delay'd status... what ever that means ... but dealer reckons they will be hear this year sometime as they are prioritising all EV and Hybrid cars... the wait goes on

My son has a superb lease car,he had a problem with and took it to Durham pulman.they would not even look at because he did not buy the car off them,he told them it was a lease car with no effect at all.he says there attitude was a disgrace.he then took it to skoda sunderland and he said they bent over backwards to help.he is now going to take his car for service  to sunderland due to there attitude.i also went looking for a new car before his episode and I found there attitude was very poor.they were very unhelpful when asking about things on a new car.could not give a toss.

We just rang around for the best price on x 5 of them, as in our case price mattered and not the dealer, i doubt sunderland could of got them any quicker, we with with baited breath lol

Just another point in what they are saying at Durham about ev,hybrid getting built quicker.if you have a look on here there is a guy saying that is where the biggest delay is ie ev,hybrid cars.so take everything with a pinch of salt it is just a publicly con that is coming out of skoda dealers.

yes i've heard it said a few times about ev 's being given preference but  ev 'cars can have up to 10 times more chips in them compared to ice cars

other than vag getting fined because of not reducing emmisons, it does'nt make sense when chips are in short supply

surely better to get 10 cars sold than just 1

Got you beat there. :) February 2021 but probably there's some here that are waiting even longer. I've been reading the German Octavia forum. They have people from November, December 2020 still on the wait...

2021-11-22 11_40_53-Order thread _ Page 349 – Google Chrome.png

Hello, i am new to the forum but i will share my experience. Around the third week of October i went and ordered a new vRS, race blue, canton, rear view camera, blind spot, acc. The dealer told me around the timeframe for delivery was around 8-9 months realistically.  I checked with them about 2 weeks later to discuss adding an option(which later i opted not to add) and asked if there were any news. He said that the car had been assigned to be built in the first week of january, but due to the problems with the rear view camera the build date was removed and he didn’t have any new information afterwards. Today i contacted him to ask if there were any changes (because of the topics of this thread) and to my surprise, he said that the estimated build date was around Christmas or a little after new years, although he couldn’t say anything for sure unless he got a vin number. He also said that removing the rear view camera wasn’t going to be necessary. No word on canton.

@Zhivkov00 Hello neighbor (same region of Europe), really interesting news from you! I thought the sales/delivery policy was similar in our countries... but no!

I was called recently (last week) by the dealer to give up the rear-view camera in order to have the car built in the next few months. To be clear: not sooner, but sometime next year... They underlined that the Factory message was clear: keeping park-assist and rear-view camera on the car, will delay the production beyond the initial delivery time-window.

Even the western-markets are now lacking the optional rear-view mirror. But it's standard on vRS if I understood corectly, so that might explain why you don't have to remove it...

Anyway, fingers crossed - hope you get your vRS soon!

Hello, in Bulgaria the rear view camera is an option, the dealer said it was a possibility to give it up in order to speed up production, but nothing was certain. I asked him i were to to do that, am i going to be able ti fit it after the car has been built(retrofit of some sorts),  to which he responded that he needed to get a vin to be sure, but in general it was possible. Nevertheless he told me go hold tight and wait and see what happens.

Hello,

I have been following this topic since I ordered mine (Skoda Octavia estate iV Style) in the middle of May.

It had been produced fairly quickly after the order and I think at the end of June it was just sitting waiting for chips.
It arrived in Finland about 6 weeks ago and I finally received it today. It was ordered from a leasing company.

Color is Quartz Grey, the main options were DCC, HUD and Canton sound system.
The salesman told me that ordering a new car now takes about 9-10months before delivery. He also said that Canton was an option delaying the production because of missing chips.

Just had email to inform me allocated Build Week 9 for my Octavia VRS Estate with Winter Pack ordered May

Might be a dumb question but, are people getting their build week emails via the dealer or direct from Skoda? If direct from Skoda is there something to sign up to, to get them?

I ordered in October so not expecting anything for the next few months, was just curious.

Skoda doesn't talk to anyone. That's why there is such a massive difference between everyone, all the information comes from the dealers.
