@Hairy_Joe Congrats! With an order placed back in Aug'21 and delivery Dec.'22, you're close to the record holder of this topic ( @RsDub - if I'm not mistaking currently holding 1st place / ordered Oct.'21 - delivery Jan.'22). I ordered in Aug.'21 and I don't even have a provisional build estimation; really NO INFO!!!

If I'm allowed a bad joke: since you got your first Octavia in ~4 months, the "conservation laws" would imply that the second one will be delivered so late - such that the average of the two will be the average waiting time we all observed on this forum...
Kidding aside, your dealer might have been a bit too optimistic on your second order; but if you now add 1-3 months delay (caused by the fire @factory) you might get something closer to reality.

Oh I'm  expecting Jan 23 for delivery myself. If it arrives in October, November or December I'll hold off for next year's registration

just wonder who have waited the longest for there octavia car ?it is 9 moths for me at the moment,i am sure there is people who have waited longer than me?unless they have got there car and not posted it onto here.

I waited 10.5 months. Ordered early March, arrived mid Jan.

Worth the wait though and thankfully nowhere near the number of issues some seem to have. Just a bit of wireless android auto instability so far.

11 months for me... And I think somebody ordered in February 21

There were a few who had said Jan / Feb iirc?

Usual update of no update. Dealer are aware of the door factory fire but doesn't sound like Skoda told them that......

it is a pr shambles by skoda, how can anybody order a new skoda car and have it in a few months?yet numerous people are waiting 9/10/11 months is beyond belief.a complete farce that skodsa should hang there heads in shame.

VRS 2.0 TSI DSG Estate ordered May 21 with Winter Pack , informed in December from broker of build Week 9 w/c 28/2. Email Friday

from broker  to say "supplier has informed me your vehicle was scheduled to be built Week 7 w/c 14/2".

Hi I ordered my vRS TDi 4x4 in white with reversing camera canton sound dcc winter pack and crew protection June 21 latest update is it will be at dealer beginning June but no build date received yet. Is this expected lead time 12 months ???

It’s an estate too

as i have said many times before a lot of us have been waiting over 9 months am approaching  9 months in a few days time.told i should have it by 18 march 22 so that would make it 10 months.i have a lot of build dates but got pushed back.told 2 weeks ago car is built but waiting for parts .i would not put much faith in build dates.good luck

Just got the weirdest call today from my dealer...

- I called to tell you that your car is finally scheduled for production.

- Wow! Great news! What's the estimated production week? (I asked)

- Oh, that I don't know. We can't see that bit of info in the system!

WTF Skoda??? that's really strange, to say the least! Their transparency is getting really opaque?!?!?
She told me that out of about 10 Octavia orders they have pending since last year, two were apparently scheduled for production, even if they can't say when...

mine told me that usually when they see a car schedule for production it's that the car ll be produced within the very next days

Every car company is the same. I spoke to my friend yesterday who is a fleet operations manager for Audi, he said he had 2000 cars on his books which have been ordered. He said one person who ordered a couple of hundred cars had 2 cars with identical spec, ordered the same day, with consecutive build numbers. One has just been delivered, the other one is going to be a few more weeks at least.
The last thing he said to me was “don’t try to figure out when a car is going to be delivered, you’ll be wrong, the dealers don’t know anything and the manufacturers are just pumping out what they can when they can, they can’t predict what will be made and when”. So until you get your “your car is a the dealers ready to be delivered” notification don’t try to second guess what’s going to happen.
He said they are quoting 14 months for a lot of Audi models now.

That makes some kind of sense... After I had NO info for ~6 months, I am suddenly told it will be built. So what you're saying might somehow explain why they called me.
On the other hand I'd hate to build false expectations; and the fact that they're not mentioning an estimated fabrication week, is really frustrating. To me it still means it could be between next week and end of the summer...

…or at the end of year 🤷🏻‍♂️😆

ordered in April 21. Still waiting....

Yeah guys, it's no use to point your fingers on Skoda. All the dealers have same issues.

Dealers have hard times telling you anything, since they dont get the information either.

Lack of information is not because of dealers, but rather because factory processes can't handle the situation. There is (or was) no guide at the factory for "how to handle 30000  unfinished cars".

Old orders are i _guess_ literally lost in the system, or perhaps just too far in the parking lot to be found anymore :)

Latest news for me is that build week is 7, but according to the, it might take weeks to move forward.

sure, that's also possible.

Agreed, I'm not really complaining about the dealer, but I'm cursing Skoda!
Reading all the stories on this topic I kind of resigned in a sort of hibernation... having no expectations of delivery before later this year - autumn maybe. Really pushed this topic somewhere on a secondary list in my head.
But out of the blue, I get this call "it's scheduled for production". Why would anyone bother to call any client to tell him the car is scheduled for production if they can't provide an estimation? (Not even month, not a provisional week). For me, the fact that Skoda accepted the order (some 2 weeks after the I placed the order) means the car will be at some point scheduled for production... So I feel like they called me to tell me that the order is still accepted by the factory 😀
I'm just bothered that they woke me up from hibernation, without providing any actual news. Not sure I'm making myself clear...

Totally clear and you are right…for me is information “your car is scheduled for production but I don’t know when” the same as nothing

Mmm i disagree on this one. My dealer told me that he rather not tell about any updates, since they not be valid.

I instead like to have any information i can get. Just makes me feel that something is happening :)

There is a big difference between few more weeks and much more months. Few more weeks people can forgive. :)

But if few weeks is repeated, multiple times, pushed back in steps, and ends up as months, then generally damage is worse than if it had been one bad delay at start.

I am not sure anyone forgives very bad estimates, just close but not exact ones.

Yep, my estimate is going to be at least half of the actual delivery date, from 7 to 14 months.

Stop guessing about the delivery times :) Nothing is real until the car is sitting at the dealer.

Same thing with many electronic products. Just waiting for them to arrive. Nobody knows when something is delivered.

Dealer giving you some dates is just guessing. He knows little more than you do :)

I mean i believe you guys, who ordered the car somewhere almost a year ago. Many people have had their car before that. No good explanation for that.

That's another VAG car brand though.

Meanwhile the turn around on Toyota's is less than 4 months, and they can pin point the entire process down to the day.
