  • Well 13.5 months waiting and I finally collected my Octy Estate vRS yesterday. I couldn't be happier  👍😀

  • After 13 months waiting my SEL iV Plug in Hybrid arrived.    All seems good with it so far, just to understand some of the infotainment features!

  • Just took delivery of mine but had to cancel some of the optional extras

Ordered directly from Skoda, and surprisingly delivered on time: my "new Octavia" in moonlight white 😁 At least something to hold on to...

Dont know where you are getting your info from

The source is this one (already used on this topic a few times) - and it seems to update quite often, I checked it:

VW last October that the 3 Touregs I ordered won’t be available by earliest August 22

As I mentioned a bit earlier, I only took the minimum value (all VW cars are indicated as "from X months", so I mentioned X). For Octavia they also say "from 10", but we all know it's not the case... Except a few isolated cases - if I remember correctly you're one of the happy cases?
People who ordered Octavia in March.2021 might not be too pleased with last week's fire... they're looking at a 1y+ delivery. And at the time of the order, the delivery time on the Contract was waaaay below 1y.

When I placed the order in Aug.'21, the Contract Draft was showing "25-35 weeks delivery". By the time I made the payment and arrived at the dealership a couple of days later, the Final Contract was saying "35-45 weeks". Do I believe that 45w today? definitely NOT!!!

Oh I definitely am one of the happy ones, but the staff I was ordering the VW and Audis aren’t 🙈🙈

So the people that are still waiting that ordered in the first or second quarter 2021 and were surpassed by recent orders get the gift to wait +6 months probably = 🤮

It's incredibly random, there are people still waiting from early 2021, but also there are people who received the cars already and ordered on the second half of 2021.

iV Octavia for some reason just gained massive delays, but others supposedly only got a little bit worse. If you believe the articles Skoda said the fire will delay 16000 cars, that's like one month at full production capacity, maybe two if they're still not fully up and running.

While  I am  feeling the luckiest person having my 1.5 dsg delivered in exactly 4 months - 16 weeks .

Ordered 10 th of september , delivered 14 th of january .

On the other hand I feel very angry for people ordered the car in march - may - june , july  and their car still keeps changing production weeks.

Cars with same specs like mine or less ( SEL Style with HUD and leather seats).  I insist that you should complain directly to Skoda headquarters of your

Country and Skoda headquarters in Czek. by writing to them every day complaining not so much about delays , because we all know most of the reasons , but for not keeping at all a  priority  , as they are obliged , on  a roughly first come first served basis . If someone wants I can send documentation regarding my delivery.

By the way did someone had his car delivered like me or sooner during the last year ?  I am curious .

Still showing build week 9

When did you get that build week?

It got changed a couple of times - kept in touch with the dealer every other week ( by the end i think he was pretty fed up with me to be honest but oh wow) so around 1st week of november it was scheduled for 2nd week of december, then it got pushed a week later, at which point the dealer said he expects it to be built sometime late january. Then messaged him 2nd week of january and to everyone’s surprise, it was built the day before.. so then around 3 weeks for delivery (it was in the country after 10 days or so) but due to covid and the car carrier driver being sick it was at the dealer on thursday. Signed the papers on friday, got it registered the same day and off i went.

Honestly the way Škoda is handling this situation is properly insulting quite a lot of their customers. Many of them will probably delete Škoda from their shopping lists and never order anything from them again!

As @Ralliskarasaid, we understad the reasons that can cause delays, but there is 0 logic in not putting priorities to people that are waitting 9 months - 1 year+.

I'm one of those lucky people who ordered in February 2021 and is still waiting with essentially no info as well. Not sure what to do know to be honest. I'm the last person in the company I work for who's still waiting, all the others had it within 6 months who went with brands beside Skoda. Those who ordered Skoda, even the same spec as me, got them within 11 months. I don't want to cancel, I really like this car. And it's also crap with other brands, but atleast they seem to hit their (long) delivery times.

that's the problem, i found nothing else exiting in this range price, especially in 200 cv diesel !

Completely agree, for the money the Octavia VRS is one of the best cars under £40k. As an all rounder nothing comes close. In the UK our vehicle excise duty (road tax) is set based upon emissions and vehicle value, when the on the road price (discounts aren't included) hits the £40k it becomes very expensive.

My shortlist when looking was narrowed down to the VRS or a Gulia Veloce (With no options - now over £40k with price rises.) It was very much Head vs Heart.

I'm more than happy to wait, albeit it is frustrating, as there is nothing else that gives the same bang for the buck. If I cancelled now it would be a case of making a compromise for something I don't really want and joining the back of another queue.

Pretty much sums up my position. There isn't anything else for a similar price (still sub £40k list price) that really does it for me.

There are a handful of Superb 280 4x4, almost new or pre-registered out there available, but I'd be paying £500 a year VEL for 5 years instead of £155 - and I'm loathed to throw any more money at the government than I have to.

my latest update on my car last friday says delivery 04/03/2022.not comfirmed.ordered  20 may 2021.

The only thing that I've found that possibly could fit the bill is the new Focus ST.

I've kicked my lease on a couple of times now, but coming to the time where I need to make a call on what to do . I'm not sure I want to keep the lease car indefinitely esp now it is out of warranty. I don't know what the iV delivery times are - but I'm already 7 months... Might do one last extension and hope it comes before then.

Earlier i had information that week 6 is going to be the build week. At the moment its "on production". Lets see how it proceeds.

Contacted my dealer in Croatia, asked about the fire. She said they didn't recieve anything from the factory regarding further delays.  Ordered on 14.9.2021. she sent me the screenshot, delivery date is 25th week of 2022., end of June.

HOWEVER, when we spoke a month and a half ago, she told me that delivery would be late april/early may. So I would say that it was actually delayed. Even the screenshot says "Delayed 25/22"

Then again, in the grand scheme of things, June would actually still be early because when I ordered the car they said 330 days waiting, meaning August 2022. This tells me that they actually don't know what they're doing and I am so close to canceling the order and going for a Mazda 3 sedan, there are a couple available at the dealers.

I just got bad news from my dealer (in Hungary). Today they were officially informed about the fire by the importer.

According to him, at least around 16000 car will be involved in the additional delays.

All of their 2021Q1/Q2 orders – witch were supposed to be manufactured within the next few weeks, including mine – were pushed back to Q4 2022! So with more than half a year…

He said that, from now with all these 1+ year old orders in the backlist, the importer will start to negotiate specific built dates one by one with Skoda, so the situation can change a bit in the next few days/weeks…

Hyundai i30N?

It's close but "No cigar" as the saying goes.

The Hyundai is now eliminated as I have found out that it has a fuel habit that puts an alcoholic to shame, compared to most warm/hot hatches.

From what I find it's around 9l/100km, that's not so bad?
