Hi there

Thanks very much for your scintillation fast reply.

So do you suggest me that I can go for a Chinese version and there is no functionality differences between 3V0720790 and 3VD920790?

if there is no differences between these 2 functionality wise it would better to go for the Chinese ones since there is a huge price differences?
I have seen that a few enthusiasts have gone for the chine version of the VC
Also, do I still need these MOST optical wires with my canton system instead of COLUMBUS?
I think my car is slightly different than the 17 registered ones?
what do you think?
Once again I do thank you for your valuable information on my diction making process?
Regards

Maz

You need the MOST cabling no matter what. Canton or not, it is required.

Ive had a chinese cluster in mine for over a year now without fault.

What vcds are you using? Based on the first fault code it’s an outdated module - most of the time meaning it’s a cheap clone…

not only that, we need to know that fault code to know what part you have coded incorrectly

Please get rid of all that formatting as it makes it impossible to read and look at if you place a full scan inside the <code> tags then it makes it much easier to read.

In its current state it takes up way too much space.

If youre unable to edit the post now, either delete the post and repost with correct formatting or report it to an admin and they can resolve it :)

EDIT: Also please make sure to post the complete autoscan that includes the top few lines which show what youre running the device on and also the VCDS version as it looks like your fault codes are different to the ones you took a photo of.

@Tin82Do you have a wiring connection diagram of fibre cable which goes from VC to headunit? I have a Ambudsen+ Canton and In this post you spoke abt a MOST splitter needs to be connected between control unit in glove box  but for that i need to remove control unit in glove box. I placed order for VC+ MOST Splitter and due to not many people specialised in retrofitting in India this may well be a DIY project for me 🙂! Any guidance from experts will be greatly appreciated

I think I fitted the most splitter behind the head unit. But not sure about this. It has been a while

Hi all,

Does anyone know (and willing to share this knowledge:)) what needs to be done with ODIS-E in case Chinese VC + European car. If I understand correctly the guided functions will not work in this case so "advanced" ODIS-E functions are required.

I have VAS6154 & VCDS but I don't have a clear image of what needs to be done after VC is physically connected.

Mileage adoption ? CP removal ? Immobilizer ? Coding ?

Thanks a lot.

Thanks a lot.

Run the new module routine which will copy everything including mileage.

it will also start the immo service routine to code the keys to it.

after this coding must be manually done with vcds or odis-e

Thanks, VC works error free now.

Interesting I've lost the ABS coding after using new module routine but it's easy to fix with previous back-up.

Very common doing this for some reason. It resets the abs coding to all 0’s

a lot of people make the mistake of no backup and then they are screwed

Anyone that’s looking to do this retrofit any time soon:

I will shortly have a set of DSG steering wheel controls for sale - 3V0 919 719 F

if anyone is interested in buying them.

@Tin82I ordered VC+MOST Splitter for my Skoda Superb 2017...its a 5A model. Everything works fine except for audio when splitter is hooked. Sound doesnt work. Does it require any kind of coding?

No coding is required if you had working Canton before. Are you sure the splitter is hooked up correctly?

Yes, male connector goes to mib and female to canton and another one to VC..i can see red light too at the end of connector..not sure why it isnt working

@Tin82I tried to enable adaption of 5F for Maps after VC retrofit of my skoda superb 2017..however i am getting "function not available". I am using ODIS-E tool to update adaptations below:

ENG122230-ENG122340-Dashboard_Display_Configuration-crossroad_detail_map_compression_mode,H264

- ENG122230-ENG122344-Dashboard_Display_Configuration-crossroad_detail_map_resolution,resolution_3

- ENG122230-ENG127006-Dashboard_Display_Configuration-crossroad_detail_map_transmission_mode,MOST_streaming

While I was able to successfully adapt the other settings...any idea what could be wrong?

What is the part number of your 5F unit?

Have you tried enabling MOST in coding first?

Tried a different diagnostic tool? I had this issue with a different adaptation but odis worked, vcds did not.

tried changing odis-e to developer mode or entering a security code?

tried doing them one at a time and not all at once, or in a different order, or all at once? (This can make a big difference)

Yes i did enable MOST in coding..ok looks like i need to try different options. ODIS-E i tried entering access code too that didn't work either. Unfortunately, i dont have VCDS.

Amundsen

I do have an Amundsen (MY18 car), you may need to update the infotainment units software but once you do the only difference in the coding is the following adaption on 5f

ENG122230-ENG142097-Dashboard_Display_Configuration-ability_switch_nav_maps,ON

Amundsen cannot show the map on both screens so you need to enable this to get the button that lets you swap between the two.

Cross road adaptations

Don't panic if the following adaptions fail:

ENG122230-ENG122340-Dashboard_Display_Configuration-crossroad_detail_map_compression_mode,H264
ENG122230-ENG122344-Dashboard_Display_Configuration-crossroad_detail_map_resolution,resolution_3
ENG122230-ENG127006-Dashboard_Display_Configuration-crossroad_detail_map_transmission_mode,MOST_streaming

They didn't work for me (possibly due to lack of A5 camera) just carry on with the rest.

Sport Mode Dial

The aliexpress sourced VC I used did not have the big central single dial 'sport' view when it was first fitted but the following adaptation on 17 makes it appear

ENG98918-Sport

Component Protection/Online coding/ODIS

If you don't fancy going the online route (getting a VAS5054a can be expensive) a decent independent VAG specialist will be able to do this bit for you but make sure ahead of time they are comfortable using the advanced features of odis, the guided function will not work for chinese vc + european car

@pleasingOk. I have issues enabling adaptations above on my Ambudsen so it looks like it wont work...i did enable other settings but still not getting option to display map in my car- selection. Sharing my MIB version. I recently upgraded fw from 3x to 4x using swdl patch + metainfo update.

I need some help with fuel gauge calibration on my retrofitted VC. Car is Skoda Superb 1.8 TSI 2017. I am using ODIS to code. The moment VC was installed. I started getting empty fuel tank indicator. In the coding, i tried to change variant of car from variant 1 to 2 in the tank parameters. Now tank is showing full...i tried changing variants from 1-8 all except 2 and 3 are showing tank full. Now i am not sure if this is showing correctly. Any inputs from experts would on correct variant selection for my car would be deeply appreciated

Edited by deepshegde

Compare the current adaptions to the backup you took before fitting the VC, that should give you some good clues what you've missed regarding tank levels. It might be worth posting a backup of your current adaption channels :)

As for maps, my Amundsen is running the same 0480 software but was 04xx from factory. I've no idea if the 03xx >> 04xx upgrade makes any difference. Anyway, I made the following changes to enable map display.

Coding:

Enable byte 19, bit 5 (enable MOST)
Disable byte 22, bit 0 (graphics via MOST rather than CAN)

Adaptions:

channel ENG122227-ENG142087-Car_Function_adaptations_Gen2-menu_display_Display_Configuration adapted from not activated to activated
channel ENG122227-ENG142089-Car_Function_adaptations_Gen2-menu_display_Display_Configuration_over_threshold_high adapted from not activated to activated

channel IDE11524-ENG137044-Vehicle function list BAP 2nd generation: expansion-display_configuration_0x45_msg_bus adapted from not activated to Databus Infotainment
