How can I tell if I have a MIB2.5? I have amundsen infotainment (part number 3V0035820B) in a superb 2021 iv

You will most likely have MIB3.0 which is a complete different setup and uses Ethernet instead of MOST

Post a photo of your centre screen and we can tell you

I found this thread very helpful for getting my vc up and running, thank you @Tin82 for an excellent write up. Just a couple of notes that may help others.

Amundsen

Quote

What about Amundsen? I have read that with certain types of Amundsen it should also be able to show maps on VC. But coding is a bit different. And, as I don’t have Amundsen, I can’t really tell.

I do have an Amundsen (MY18 car), you may need to update the infotainment units software but once you do the only difference in the coding is the following adaption on 5f

ENG122230-ENG142097-Dashboard_Display_Configuration-ability_switch_nav_maps,ON

Amundsen cannot show the map on both screens so you need to enable this to get the button that lets you swap between the two.

Cross road adaptations

Don't panic if the following adaptions fail:

ENG122230-ENG122340-Dashboard_Display_Configuration-crossroad_detail_map_compression_mode,H264
ENG122230-ENG122344-Dashboard_Display_Configuration-crossroad_detail_map_resolution,resolution_3
ENG122230-ENG127006-Dashboard_Display_Configuration-crossroad_detail_map_transmission_mode,MOST_streaming

They didn't work for me (possibly due to lack of A5 camera) just carry on with the rest.

Sport Mode Dial

The aliexpress sourced VC I used did not have the big central single dial 'sport' view when it was first fitted but the following adaptation on 17 makes it appear

ENG98918-Sport

Component Protection/Online coding/ODIS

If you don't fancy going the online route (getting a VAS5054a can be expensive) a decent independent VAG specialist will be able to do this bit for you but make sure ahead of time they are comfortable using the advanced features of odis, the guided function will not work for chinese vc + european car

I had same issue with sunroof. I put long coding from backup and did basic settings via ODIS. Now it works

I have question about fuel consumption on VC. Do you know how to change from “since start” to “from refuel” or “long term”?
Did someone change button on wheels?

You can switch to show from refuel or long term if you set the display to driving details and push the right hand button.

Well worth putting a 'view' button in, no coding needed

I don’t if we tallying about same place. I attached photo to show you where I want to change to long term.

do you know what change buttons with “VIEW”. It’s only about label on switch or maybe new option? Now I can go to view with putting right scroll.

On the centre screen go to trip computer - overview, click the ‘ok’ scroll wheel till it’s on long term. That will change the small display also.

Youll need to give more details, radio part number and software version.

All the details you require are on this forum just need to be searched for, everything will be in writing somewhere

Looking at doing this retrofit for my MY18 Superb Sportline, however changing the steering wheel buttons to include the VIEW button is a bridge too far.

Will I miss any functionality that I can’t access from the steering wheel or centre screen?

Yes. You can’t select the different display types without the view button.

in return you loose the phone button - which functions no different than pressing okay when a call is made anyway

I want to buy a used oem virtual cockpit for my superb 2016 3V3 150 PS.  I found nearby oem virtual cockpit product 3V0 920 790 D and 3V0 920 790 G.  Do they fit in my car? I know that km cannot be changed in the poem virtual cockpit, but for me it is not a problem

HI Tin82,

I have got a 68 UK registered Skoda Superb estate; thinking to fit a Virtual cockpit like yourself? My car is equipped with a Canton system? Do I still need the MOST optical wires?

Also, I would like to ask you if there is any differences between the Virtual cockpit OEM Part number 3V0920790, 790A and 3VD920790?I know that the 3VD920790 is being manufactured in China and maybe marketed for Certain Countries but why it is cheaper the the CZ and German made ones? I thought that there must be functional restrictions most probably? Or if both of them (i.e. 3V0920790 and 790 A CZ or German made ones are exactly same with the China Made 3VD920790 ones functionality wise Why there is almost £1000 pricfe difference?

Can you please shead some lights onto these points that I outlined above?

I would like you to thank you in advance for your help and information. I do also thank you to the other group members who will be shedding some lights on these points?

With my best Regards

Maz

3V0 and 3VD are one is made for the european market and one is made for the chinese market

790 and 790A the difference is 790A has a higher speed rating and is classed as the 'sport' version

Hi there

Thanks very much for your scintillation fast reply.

So do you suggest me that I can go for a Chinese version and there is no functionality differences between 3V0720790 and 3VD920790?

if there is no differences between these 2 functionality wise it would better to go for the Chinese ones since there is a huge price differences?
I have seen that a few enthusiasts have gone for the chine version of the VC
Also, do I still need these MOST optical wires with my canton system instead of COLUMBUS?
I think my car is slightly different than the 17 registered ones?
what do you think?
Once again I do thank you for your valuable information on my diction making process?
Regards

Maz
