› Visual and technical refinements for ŠKODA’s successful large SUV
› Styling changes to the front and rear, plus redesigned LED headlights
› Refreshed ŠKODA KODIAQ to be officially unveiled on 13 April

Mladá Boleslav, 30 March 2021 – Fine-tuning for the successful model: Three design sketches give a first impression of the revised ŠKODA KODIAQ. The large SUV, which is also available as a seven-seater, marked the start of brand’s successful SUV campaign in 2016. Now featuring a refreshed look and technological enhancements, the updated KODIAQ will be celebrating its premiere on 13 April.

The first design sketch shows the even more striking front of the revised ŠKODA KODIAQ: In addition to a redesigned bonnet, the look is characterised by a more upright, hexagonal ŠKODA grille featuring impressive double slats. The headlights, which are slimmer than in the predecessor, combine with the fog lights positioned below to create a new four-eyed face. Another noticeable new feature is the redesigned front apron, with a wider central air intake framed by L-shaped trim elements on either side and an aluminium-look insert.

The second sketch is a close-up of the remodelled front headlights. It clearly depicts the two LED modules arranged one on top of the other, creating a characteristic light signature. The third sketch shows that the sharply drawn taillights now also have a more slimmed-down look, mirroring their counterparts at the front. They feature the brand’s signature crystalline structures and form a flatter version of the classic ŠKODA C-shape design.

The arrival of the KODIAQ in 2016 marked the start of the current ŠKODA SUV family and the model nomenclature using names starting with a K and ending with a Q. Available with seven seats on request, over 600,000 units of the SUV have been produced, and it is offered in 60 markets around the world. The world premiere of the upgraded ŠKODA KODIAQ will take place on 13 April.

I'm sure everyone with the current Kodiaq will be rushing to the nearest dealer to buy one. I wonder if the interior will have undergone such a massive transformation?

And for this they will charge a premium 😂

Best time to buy from stock in May/June and get a hefty discount on 2021 model because 2022 IMHO does not seem to be something that warrants a wait of several months.

So a new bumper then with pretty much the same configuration as before, wow.

If the high beam units are slimmer in reflector height then I would guess there is less light output than our current models too. The Kodiaq's high beam is disappointing already compared to the 2 lens LED units that the equivalent VWs have on each side. My Passat and Golf were noticeably better than the Kodiaq's lights on full noise.

That doesn't look like a Matrix version light either unless only on the VRS/Sportline or added on as extras.

Agree, plus what will be missing on a MY22 vs MY21 as well.

Seeing that the Superb’s headlights look like this I would expect the Kodiaq’s matrix system to look like how it’s pictured.

Perhaps a comparison with the MY17 spec when it was launched in 2016 would be useful.

I think the range initially ran from £21,495 (1.4tsi S spec) to £34,895 (4x4 Edition), or using RPI to convert to todays money £23,980 to £38,925

The MY21 range is from £26,630 to £42,175,

so went up about 21% (or about 11% over inflation)

I’ll leave it to others to decide if it is a 11% better car to justify the 11% increase above inflation

Calling this teaser video a teaser would be an overstatement:

The only real details I could see are these...wish they put the chrome/black bar trim piece that 'connects' the rear lights together like what's available on the Superb facelift.

I was watching the Tour of the Basque Country on Eurosport this afternoon, and trying to identify the Skoda Race Support vehicles. I'm now wondering if they were using the new Kodiaqs before their official launch??

Nope... got a clear shot of the rear today and it was an Octavia Estate. So no car spotting badge for me :(
