My new (to me) 280 has just turned up and I've been having a poke around. The car is a 17 plate (March 2017) but think it's a MY16 with the 8" screen.

 

- KESSY - is it not possible to disable KESSY on my car using the touch the lock on the button and touch the doorhandle trick?

- The car has 3 Nexens and 1 Conti (dealer used car) - are tyres not supposed to at least match across axle (surprised it's come from the dealer like this)?

- The car came with 2 keys, how many should I have (internet seems to say 2 or 3?).

You certainly shouldn't mix cross ply and radial, but I'm not even sure that cross ply tyres still exist.

 

I wouldn't be happy driving with different tyres on the same axle, front to back wouldnt concern me, but thats personal opinion.

 

To me it would show a cheapskate previous owner, or a care-free one.

Thanks - it was the dealer that fitted both. Apparently they fitted 2 Nexens and then one got a puncture before they shipped it to me and they only had the Conti in stock so fitted that...

I wouldnt accept that.

 

I would tell them to get the correct one on order and fit that when it comes in.

 

It's not recommended practice as all brands have different characteristics, braking distance etc.

 

 

Dunno about disabling KESSY but I received 2 keys with my 2016 car.

If you have this function you have to touch the locking indent on the door handle within 5 sec after pushing the lock button on the remote.

If your trying to confirm it’s worked you need to wait at least 10 sec before trying door handle.

I received 3 keys with my 2016 car.  Did you buy it from new?  Mine was a Škoda management car registered in October 2016 and was 8 months old when I bought it.

Yup, brand new registered 1st March 2016.

Two keys with my 2018 car. New from dealer.

3 keys with my June 2016 car purchased in Sept 2019. Ex VWFS car.

and illegal in some countries -  eg France
