Still don’t know why at the very least Skoda won’t put the all black badge on the VRS. Really is better.

That will be the first thing I’ll be changing once my VRS arrives 👍🏼

This will have been a retail purchase not lease, more profit more!

  • Well, after a 7 month wait, I picked up my Sportline facelift today. All options present, including Canton, and the electric child locks with the family pack.

Just had a dealer update car in port awaiting shipping....well pleased!

When was yours built? My VRS was built week 6 but allegedly still in transit from factory to Emden! Now into the fourth week! That doesn’t sound right to me

Hello!!! I've just received a call from the seller with this number: 0039673/2022

I doubt that it's the right number to check my order...

Can anybody help?

Thanks!!!

It's a lease according to the post.

Skoda at this point don't appear to have some sort of secret genius plan, They are "Simply Incompetent".

has anyone who ordered a car on a PCH Deal (leased) had the car delivered in a reasonable time. I have been informed by a sales guy at Skoda that they are back of the queue. Retail first. And yes Skoda do know what cars have been discounted etc.

Skoda don’t know the individual level of discount offered by the dealer to a customer.  That’s for retailers to decide.

However in UK cars are divided into private (retail sales), fleet (which includes lease companies) and business (a small category of 1-2% for demonstrators etc).  It is generally known that fleet gets bulk discounts.  Obviously when there is a supply squeeze like now, there isn’t the volumes, so the fleet category with its lower prices and less profit is hardly going to be first choice to be supplied.

Unfortunately it seems some lease companies rather misled some, by giving dates that implied they would be met, even though they had no control over when cars would be supplied to them.

I think last year the Skoda online chat mentioned to me if the order starts with 31......  it's a fleet order and 30..... is a normal retail order. I could be imagining that though.

My order number started with 31, I’m on PCP.

i'm 31 order through my wifes work so retail but work scheme

I'm also 31 through a similar scheme.

Was that direct with a dealer? If it is, then ignore my comment about 31/30 being different.

Work schemes are usually lease though aren’t they?

Ive also been told by my dealer that leasing would put you to the back of the queue right now. But I dismissed that as ‘well of course you are going to say that as I pull out the PCH deals during negotiation. But in fairness after shaking hands a few days later he said that lease right now are hardly getting any stock compared to retail.

So does sound like a thing.

Skoda chat told me lease order also means fleet order. So anyone who hasn’t ordered direct from the dealer seems to have a lease/fleet order.

Also just off the ŠKODA chat- couldn’t confirm if order prefix related to lease/retail and they offered to call the dealer. I get a weekly update from them every Friday so will see what they say. I’m also 31 via retailer so can’t see it being lease/fleet although started the ball rolling via Carwow.

do we know if the Ukraine part manufacture issues have affected the Kodiaq? i know VW and BMW have said production has halted on certain models due to wiring shortage.

I also heard its as bad as the steel for the car is sourced from Russia

Think it’s the enyaq it’s mainly impacting, but obviously will just cause issues generally and who knows where it ends. Car deliveries are small issues by comparison.

On another note how do you know your order numbers? No idea what mine is.

Carwow

They're just a broker and act as an introduction to a particular dealer. From then on, it's as though you walked into that dealer off the street - albeit with the negotiations done up front.

should be able to request your SLI number from the dealer, i dont know if it has to be at a certain stage to be assigned one like order accepted by factory etc......

if electric suvs werent a joke in price id cancel and go that way given the price of fuel

@AlienAl

The Skoda Kodiaq Sportline 1.5TSI DSG is not cheap or cheap to run as petrol gets to over 150 pence a litre.

EV's are not a joke in price for many who are business users and saving thousands in tax in the UK and getting electricity free or cheap or even at half the cost of petrol & diesel even if paying 50 pence a kWh for electric.

Even private owners / drivers can see the saving over the cost of an ICE.

Home / Work Electric charging costs will be rising as will Public Charging.

Delays in EV's being produced will happen as many materials are going to be restricted as they come from Russia & the Ukraine,

minerals, metals and components made from these.

nope for those who have access to the business offset but those wanting it as a family car the need for an suv its ridiculous for something the equivalent in toys as the sportline. I'm sure a poverty spec q4 etron is around 50k but thats nearly double what im paying for the skoda and i'm unlikely to save that difference in fuel especially as you say the rise in price of electric.

I dont know what the answer is, its not like cancellign is worth it as this isnt going to go away for years! its all in a **** state and theres us who have unfortunately timed it the worst, its not even worth getting a second hand car given the price either

Thanks. Interesting. So Scalia and Kamiq seem affected alongside obvious reductions in enyaq.

Having to source parts from elsewhere in a hurry might also impact quality of builds.

However, at least for now from reading this it sounds like Kodiaq is less impacted than other vehicles.

Indeed, and if you also factor in the fire which is impacting the door panels for the Octavia you never know - Kodiaq might get some priority on chips due to Skoda not being able to build many other models. Fingers crossed from a selfish perspective but you have to feel for those who are waiting for the other models. It seems to be one thing after another at the moment.

Right now my worry personally is low considering the events in Ukraine and those poor people there.

I got a deal that’s great thanks to the situation but I might have to wait. Good deal is worth waiting for.  But yeah definitely some who have already been waiting a year or whatever..l feel for those folks.
