So... Weird news on my car...

 

No longer "No build week allocated"

 

Is now in some kind of error state where they intend to freeze orders and due to model year changes manually check through all the ancient orders like mine to see when/if they can build it to spec.

 

No idea how long this will take. No idea if we will get what we ordered - or even anything.

 

The dealer is at least going to update me every Monday from now on so I suppose... News.

Is there another facelift year coming out then? or do they mean checking orders pre facelift may/june like yours (think you said April)  and others after that date according to what extras can be fulfilled?

Not a facelift but the June/July model year change (MY23 I guess?) when option packs will change.

Every year there is an MY update mid calendar year. Usually adding (or more likely deleting) features. No significant changes usually. In 2019 for MY20 they changed the Skoda badge at the back to lettering. That kind of thing.

I think this year it will be a deletion of lots of options/features in packs due to shortages.

 

Can imagine they'll come back to me saying they can't build it or at least they can, but with some of my options missing.

At least you know that somebody somewhere in the factory is going to look at your order. Good news or bad, it should give you a bit more of a clue what’s going on and what their intentions are

That's the positive I'm taking from it. No idea how many they're checking or how long it will take but at least it's not just "no build week", someone is doing something.

Yeah I’ve heard about the error state from my dealer. Did you have stuff like blind spot monitoring on it etc? Cos all that was pulled early 2022 by VAG and what has probably happened is they tried to put your car into a build slot and cos you had options that are now no longer in spec it’s errored it. The main issues are the detection stuff like side assist and blind spot….

i was going to say if you havent many options maybe they would push yours through but.................. if you dropped some would your dealer think it would bump you up massively?

Travel Assist is the self drive package, so sign recognition, adaptive cruise and lane keeping.

 

They've basically said what and see what they come back with, until Skoda come back to use we don't know which if any option is a problem so wouldn't know which to remove to move it on.

Yeah the travel assist pack changed and they removed stuff early 2022 due to chip shortages. So that will be the error I suspect. What you ordered isn’t currently available to build. Hope they get back to you quickly.
